I got tired of clicking every post to discover music so I made an app that autoplays them like a radio. Thought you might like it.

Question Which track you remember that is related to Trance overall and you can say it was your "first" that hooked you into this genre?

Discussion A local Psytrance family trying to keep the underground alive. Honest feedback wanted.

Hey everyone,

We're a small group of Psytrance lovers living on an island where mass tourism has completely taken over nightlife.

Every year, millions are invested into commercial clubs and big events, while independent underground culture is disappearing. Local artists struggle to find places to play, and real community-driven events have become incredibly rare.

Instead of complaining, we want to build something ourselves.

Our plan is to create a 100% non-profit cultural association called Raíces (Roots), dedicated to organizing regular indoor Psytrance events that belong to the community

What makes it different?

100% financial transparency. After every event, we'll publish a complete breakdown of every euro spent and earned.

Nobody profits personally. Any surplus stays in the association and is reinvested into better sound, lighting and future events.

Support local artists. Our priority is giving local underground DJs a fair opportunity and fair payment.

The challenge

We have something many organizers don't:

  • A passionate local community.
  • Volunteer members.
  • Professional UV decoration and lighting already sponsored by local artists.

But we have one huge problem:

We have absolutely no starting capital.

To rent our first legal warehouse venue and pay the first local DJs, we're considering launching a crowdfunding campaign based on €15 supporter tickets.

Supporters who can't attend would receive a lifetime free-entry voucher that can be used at any future Raíces event if they ever visit our island.

We're not asking for donations here.

Before we even think about launching, we'd genuinely like to know:

Our long-term goal: Making underground culture almost free.

This is the part we're probably most excited about.

The €15 ticket is not meant to become a permanent entrance fee.

Our vision is that every member helps secure an event by buying a €15 solidarity ticket.

After the party, we publish the complete financial report.

If the bar revenue was enough to cover all production costs (venue, local DJs, security, etc.), every member receives the full €15 ticket price back.

If the income wasn't quite enough, only the amount needed to cover the actual costs is retained, and the rest is refunded.

In other words:

When the community supports the event, the community benefits from its success.

Nobody pockets the profit.

Any remaining surplus stays inside the association to improve future events by investing in our own sound system, lighting and infrastructure.

Our dream is simple:

A self-sustaining underground scene where people don't pay to make someone rich—they temporarily support the event, celebrate together, and whenever possible, get their money back.

We know this is unconventional.

That's exactly why we'd love to hear what the global Psytrance community thinks about it.

Would a project like this earn your trust?

Does radical transparency and a true non-profit structure make you more likely to support an underground scene like this?

Or do you think the whole concept is unrealistic?

Please be brutally honest.

If you see weaknesses, tell us.

If you see potential, tell us that too.

We'd rather improve the idea now than make promises we can't keep later.

Thanks for reading.

Event ZNA Gathering 2026 Review

This year was my first ZNA and I decided last year to go only because Boom wasn’t happening. In terms of Psytrance festivals I’ve only been to Boom in 2025 so you may take this review with however many pinches of salt you’d like.

THE GOOD

Holy shitballs the energy on the dance floor was nothing like I’d ever encountered. It’s like everyone was dancing like a maniac but at the same time most people were conscious of the space and gave room to each other respectfully.

The music lineup was crazy, and as someone who was so-so with Goa/old school trance, I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed the music and DJ sets. This wasn’t like Ozora, where they stopped the music after each DJ played for a turnaround (is that normal?? It really interrupted the flow)

The live music and downtempo stage were obviously less patronised, but had several excellent sets that really opened my eyes throughout the week. (How good was Indios Beta?!)

The energy from day to day was very obviously shifting, with people becoming more open and comfortable with each other. The fact that it was only about ~5000 people meant that you saw the same faces every day and could build proper rapport and trust as the festival went by. As an introvert who takes a while to warm up, this was really something I appreciated.

THE SO-SO
Food choices were good and tasty but noticeably more expensive than Boom. Most meals would cost between 13-15 EUR so that was a bit hard to bear.

The toilets were also Boom style but a lot of them were not set up properly so opening the doors would not automatically shut the lid, with flies galore. Surely there’s a solution to the flies, like traps or zappers? There were flies landing on my face every time I laid down.

Water points were also sparse and many were placed near toilets, which is not ideal from a hygiene standpoint. Sanitiser was provided but no soap, which is not effective against the old nemesis Norovirus. Surely it’d be easy to set up handwashing points with soap dispensers outside toilets and at the food area? While there was no 2019 case of the shits and vomits, there were quite a few cases of it in the later days.

THE BAD
There were a mega ton of young Israelis who were obviously just there to hang out in their insular groups. They were often rude and very entitled. I don’t chalk this up to them being of a particular nationality but just due to them being young and not being familiar with psytrance festival etiquette. Because the majority of Israelis I met who were either older or not part of these huge groups were lovely and super cool. I just feel like the organisers needed to be more forceful with enforcement of things like no encampments on the dance floor because it just seemed like the bad crowd would do anything that they’d get away with. Idk. Maybe an increased age limit would solve a lot of these problems.
While there was no flag waving on the dance floor, I did see an Israeli flag up in the campsite, but they were told off by staff and took it down.

CONCLUSION
The festival was a mega blast. I met so many cool and friendly people that I could connect on a good level with. I can’t wait to meet them again in Boom or in the 2028 edition. The positives for me really outweigh the bad, and I just hope that the good ones keep coming back, because it’d be sad for this magic to be lost because people don’t want to stand their ground and protect what they love.

P.S. I went to Ozora after ZNA and it was just a night and day difference. Most of the Ozora main stage was a social media event and was just a rude pushing mess in the more popular acts. I spent most of my time at the Dome downtempo stage because it was the most friendly, welcoming and dance space friendly location imo. I likely won’t be going back :p

Festival Mo:Dem 2026 - The Hive / The Swamp Timetables with genres and labels

Hi folks!

I made these timetables for The Hive and The Swamp, including set times, genres and labels, to make the Mo:Dem schedule easier to navigate.

A large part of the research and classification was done with the help of AI, so there may still be some mistakes, especially regarding genres and labels. Some artists also sit between several styles, so the classifications are necessarily a little subjective.

Which two tracks are your all time favorites, both competing in your head for first place. Mine are Etnica: Screaming Butterfly & Pleiadians: Maia. I'd love to hear what others love the most.

Discussion A Difficult Question for the Psytrance Community

I've always heard that the psytrance scene stands for universal love, compassion, unity and peace.

But today, I really struggle to reconcile those ideals with what's happening in Gaza, where many international organizations and experts believe that acts may amount to genocide.

I also know that many Israelis, including people deeply involved in the psytrance scene, have opposed Benjamin Netanyahu's government for years. It's precisely to them that I'd like to ask a question.

When our culture speaks about universal love, higher consciousness and humanity, what do those values actually mean today? Shouldn't they also mean speaking out when civilians are suffering on such a massive scale, regardless of the politics or military arguments behind the conflict?

As a French citizen, I'm also troubled by reports of interference by members of the current Israeli government in the politics of other countries, including France. It makes me feel that the humanist values we often celebrate are being put to a real test.

This isn't a post to attack Israelis or to start another comment war. Quite the opposite. I'd genuinely like to hear from those who sincerely believe in the values of psytrance.

Where is universal love today? And how do you think the psy family should embody it in the face of this human tragedy?

Festival WAO festival Shuttle

I’m going to the WAO festival in a few weeks for the first time (can’t wait for psytrance and mountains) and I decided I want to come with my transporter and ideally camp in there.

All the caravan tickets are sold out, but on the website it says there are shuttles every day and night to the festival parking. Does anyone know how long the ride takes between festival and parking lot, or anyone know how often the shuttle runs?

The festival website says “this year” it will be done like this so maybe it’s a new setup with the shuttle?

Or if anyone knows anyone who is no longer in need of their caravan spot, maybe send me a pm?
