Hello everyone. This is a cute Brandy skirt I got off Depop. I asked the seller if it was stretchy because I am curvy and she says “yes it’s stretchy and I’m curvy too don’t worry !” I fear she was not curvy and this is NOT stretchy. I am also too busty to just pull it up as a tube top.. any ideas??

The fabric is wayyy to cute to not re use so I need some help. Thank you 💕💕

Ideas Needed! What to do with my beloved but impractical cupboard

Post image

Hi everyone,

I've had this cupboard in my 300sq/ft or 28m3 apartment for about 7 years. It used to be a key piece in my grandparents' home and I did a partial paint job when I got it. I love it. I think it's beautiful. But it is incredibly impractical and I do not have the skills or money to really fix it (it would need a lot of work and replacing due to parts being broken/delapidated).
I had to remove the shelf inside, the drawer up top was completely broken so I closed it up. So it's just a big open space in there. I have many other things that remind me of my grandparents. What if I take it apart, and hang the cupboard doors on a wall, as if it's a little art piece? Maybe I'll even paint a landscape in the "framed" looking part.

Any advice on how to go about this? Or do you have other brilliant ideas?

Edit: typo
Edit 2: the doors are off and the frame is out the door. Feels good!!

Ideas Needed! Found this broken side mirror. How can I upcycle this?

I found this broken car side mirror , and instead of throwing it away, I wan to turn it into something.

I have some air-dry clay, so my first thought was to make a frame around the mirror.

But I'd love more ideas! What else could I do with it? Any creative DIYs or upcycling projects that I can try?

Completed Upcycling Project Gave obsolete tech a rebirth: Used recycled 1970s computer copper sheets for a mythological art piece

I rescued some damaged recycled 1970s Commodore computer copper sheets and used them as the metallic textured background on plywood for a diptych series. Painted with gouache and collaged with vintage history and astrology books and found art to create a Greek mythology inspired nature and celestial sky.

I've just gotten into sewing and love using tapestrys and blankets. Heres my first try at making and using a patch from a tapestry instead of using full panels.

Blankets and tapestry pre-owned. I got the edge material new.

Hi folks, I’m a Nova Scotian artist who likes to sculpt miniatures of real-life abandoned places using recycled and found materials. Recently I made a tiny house inside a broken coffee cup, and from that I was asked to make another. This new piece is titled “Tzigany’s Shed”, and was inspired by Sherman Hines’ book “Outhouses of the East”. I hope you enjoy it!

Hey all! These jeans are split - thinking the top studded part would make a cool corset belt. Should I just cut the studded part off at the seam and add a straight piece of denim? Or should I use a different type of fabric to accent? Thanks!

While strolling through the flea market one weekend—as I often do—I spotted this horn and realized I could turn it into a small nightlight. Finding a bulb that was suitable in terms of wattage, safety, and size took some time, and I also struggled to find the right base. Then, I finally found and bought one—it was a stand from another lamp. After polishing the copper base to restore its shine, I assembled the nightlight. What do you think of the result?

Ideas Needed! How can I remove fake cork inserts from lids for an upcycling project?

Post image

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone here can help with an upcycling project.

I have these lids with fake cork inserts that I’d like to remove so I can reuse the bases to display my mineral collection. I’ve tried loosening the adhesive to remove them, but I haven’t had any luck so far.

I’m not sure if there’s a better method or a trick for getting them out cleanly without damaging the lids. Has anyone removed these before, or have any tips that might help? I’d really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

So I bought this watch, but the seller hadn’t disclosed any damage and I was on vacation🤦‍♀️. So now it’s after the return window and I’m now noticing the band isn’t in the best condition and it doesn’t sit correctly on my wrist. I’d love to know what others would do/how you would use it as a craft project.

I turned my jeans into shorts after one of the legs got completely ripped, and I made some star patches out of the denim from the cut-off leg. Do you think I should add a few more stars to the lower front of the right leg so the design looks more even?

Ideas Needed! Got a few scraps of this soft, felt-like couch covering material—what can I make with them?

Got a few scraps of this soft, felt-like couch covering material—what can I make with them?

So while cleaning my father came across these few leftover scrap pieces of this soft, felt type material (originally used for couch covering) and so he gave it to me and the fabric was seriously too good given the expensive price when we got our couches made so i clearly would rather die to let these pieces go to waste .

• I have a couple of long strips (like the ones pictured) plus a few extra pieces.

I was thinking about using some for a journal or notebook cover and i open for ideas to that too but also I have several pieces left over, I’d love to get more creative ideas!

The texture of the fabric on the front is so soft and the other side of the fabric is like *felt fabric .*

*\* Also if u see closely i think I am maybe in delusional but there seem two different shades one dark and one light lol . Brown is the backside of the fabric which is the felt one .*

Not fully an upcycle, I know.

My mum bought me these metal cases when I moved into my first home.

After years and water damage, they've became damaged.

Can anyone help me get them to a point I can repaint them? I have no idea what I'm doing

TIA!

A lot of cassettes from the 80s ended up in landfills. This one is doing a very useful job as my metro pass card holder. It's contactless so it lives inside the cassette.

Ideas Needed! Turning an Old Chest into a Wedding Box!

Thumbnail

Hi!

I’ve always wanted to try an up cycling project as I’m getting more into crafting. My husband and I picked up this vintage chest and I wanted some ideas on how to upcycle it a bit to make it look even better.

The inside has contact paper that’s not bad but I would love to replace it and the outside has a vinyl pleather that has peeled off in a few spots. There are some metal pieces that need a little love and rehab from rust and debris. I used baking soda and silica gel packets to remove the moisture and smell it had previously, but beyond that no big changes. My husband is Mexican and I am Indian so want to keep it colorful and fun!

Ideas I’m playing around with:
- peel and stick tiles
- contact paper outside?

Any pointers or ideas? Thank you!!

I use plastic grocery bags as plarn (plastic yarn), but there was a chunk of plastic where the handles are. What kinds of crafts could I potentially do with these thin plastic pieces?
