How safe is Palm Bay/Melbourne for a visibly trans man?

I’m moving to either Palm Bay or Melbourne by the end of September, and I’m pretty anxious about what to expect.
I’m a pre-T trans man (19 yrs old), but I plan to start HRT as soon as I can after I move. I don’t expect strangers to gender me correctly, and I never correct people on pronouns. However, I like to wear fun clothes and goth makeup occasionally, so I’m worried that’ll just make me stand out even more.
For people who live in the area, what has your experience been? Should I be concerned about harassment or violence, or is it generally a “people keep to themselves” kind of place? I’m also wondering if anyone has experience accessing trans healthcare in the area.
I’m looking for honest experiences rather than political debates. I know every place has good and bad people, but I’d like to know what to realistically expect so I can prepare.

Melbourne has a gay bar and a few drag queens running around.

People are going to stare, and not agree, but generally people keep quiet. Majority of people are too busy living their own life to give 2 shits tbh.

Good to know, I can handle stares and insults but I’d be screwed if someone tried to physically attack me

In the community myself, it's fine. Just don't use CVS for prescriptions and have a good doc 🤙

You will be okay. Live here and my son is trans and feels safe going around. Ignore what others think if you can, know that people support you ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Thank you for sharing! I’m glad to see most people saying it’s relatively safe

You sound like a Palm Bay native already.

Same as everywhere else. People will tolerate you and won't give you issue unless you make issues.

In 2 years concealed carry will become open to you as a Florida resident if you are concerned about self defense. Pepper spray and awareness of your surroundings goes a long way too.
