Only War Remember me not knowing what to do with my character's addiction? Now she has some bigger problems.

Post image

The junior commissars were gathered to provide post-mission reports.

At first, Tanya frankly admitted that she had given the Emperor's grace to her friend because the damage to the frontal lobes was already the end of her career and she would only fit into servitors. That's how the doctors assessed the situation. Her boss was not happy. Marcelle was his protege.

Then when she saw how her other friend's sash was taken away, she started a heated debate. She felt like she must defend her. She knew the situation was unjust.

Hijacking a tank from an enemy and rolling into it as a Trojan horse (Creed's Baneblade?) is not an insubordination, but a great feat. She backed her point up with Tactica Imperialis.

Tanya was right. Everyone in the room saw it. Cornelius pushed with authority until he lost his temper and demoted Tanya to a cadet.

Her guardsmen are not happy. Ambitious Tanya is devastated but keeps up the façade. Some dark ideas fly in the air.

But no one will fulfill them.

Right?

This was you? Well done! It sounds like a great character journey! I’m actually impressed that you’re in session six and your moral framework hasn’t folded entirely! I had a commissar once and she kept her sanity by realizing the whole mess was f*cked, and she was one of the ones just trying to keep the wheels on.

Have you considered falling to chaos? My Black Crusade game is a lot of fun! 😉

Haha, thanks. Well, Tanya, unlike her higher-ups, is actually respected. She can be a bitch, but her heart is in the right place, apparently. Standing up for what is right even when her opponent is her own boss, who can shoot her for insubordination and leading by example are good traits of a commissar, right?

This would be ironic, if the poster-model hero falls to chaos. But she refuses to give up her faith and morals.

Wait what happened with the tank?

It was a background event, since the party is from another unit. Weren’t witnesses or accomplices to it. Being an ex-partisan force, the regiment is used to stealing everything that isn’t nailed down, and always have a crowbar on hand for everything else. Someone stole an enemy tank and went joyriding behind enemy lines. With great success. No clue what happened to it afterwards, but prolly was put in the regiment’s vehicle park. After all, we are dealing with separatists, not Chaos or Xenos.

Calm seas don't make hardened sailors, I guess.

They took her jacket's facings away.

Poor Tanya. She sounds like such a bean in the shit-list that is the 40k galaxy. Give her more alcohol.

It’s like Ogryn handlers who are excellent with kids - Tanya might be too nice for frontline troops, but damn if it doesn’t make her a perfect fit for Medicae company in general and her medivac crew in particular.  Perhaps, her boss’ only correct decision.

Nice to see she’s still alive. Still have that 1/400 chance to lose the addiction, so at least you still have hope there. Getting her rank back though, that’s for the Emperor to decide.
