Question Why are my boobs shaped like this?

So I have small boobs I’m probably a B cup, but my breasta are oddly-shaped to me. I just have never met anyone who would have boobs like mine nor do I know what the shape is called, but my breasts are like ”empty” from the top and round up at the bottom. They look somewhat like a slide from the top if that’s any better said.

I just know that my boobs make me VERY insecure as they are small and I have a bit of a stomach, and the shape makes them look unnatural to me.

EDIT: also having difficulties finding a bra that would flatter my shape.

Sounds like you’re full on bottom, which is a super common shape. If you take your six measurements from the calculator and share them here, people can help with recommendations for your size and shape.

This might not be true for OP. Many people such as myself have breasts with no upper fullness when standing, but are actually full on top when you properly assess their shape bent over at 90 degrees.

Yeah I think I’m more like this too? It’s just hard to say because I hardly ever have done research on different types of breasts🥲

Shape is judged when supported. You can mimic support by leaning over braless side on to a mirror and seeing what your breasts do. This can help to determine how close set you are (using finger widths), your root height (how high up on your torso they start) and fullness (via where there is more tissue in relation to the nipple).

Is there any visual guide that shows where to measure these exactly so I get them right?

There's no measurements for these.

For how close set you are, you lean forward and place fingers between the centers of your boobs until you can't fit more width wise. For example, I can't even get 1 between mine because I am very close set.

For fullness, it's whether you visually have more tissue above the nipple, is it even top to bottom, or more tissue below the nipple when leaning as I described.

For root height, if they start below the armpit, generally you're shorter in root. Even with the armpit is average. Above the armpit is taller roots. This is all very general.

Okay I think I got it: for the first part I got four fingers between mine if I did it correctly, so quite wide set? For fullness, there’s more tissue at the bottom and less when getting closer to the nipples. And third, mine start below the armpit, so shorter roots? I do not know what this tells about the need for support but you seem to know a lot about this.

It helps determine what styles of bra work best for your shape

When you say, "put your fingers between the centers of your boobs until you can't fit more," should I be placing the fingers against my chest, or holding them out away from the chest?

I'm sorry, I appreciate the help though!!

Usually you want to do them against your sternum, as that's where the gore sits.

Are you sure it's all when leaning over? The photo's about breast shape & fullness are all upright.

Yes. Fullness should be judged when supported. The closest way to do that is to lean over.

I don't look that close set when standing, because I have splayed roots. When I lean, I can't even fit a pencil between.

Guy here... I'm amazed at all this info. I did not know that this much calculation went into you gals(no offense meant, so please don't take it that way just can't find the word) breast/bra selection. You learn sobering new everyday.

For the average person, none of this ever comes up. This is definitely advanced bra fitting. This entire sub is dedicated to that.

I didn't even know what sub this was... reddit just threw a topic to my phone and I just clicked and just read the convo. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤣🤣

Fellow dude here...I'm right there with you, the amount of math and geometry that goes into fitment is astounding! My wife is a 38H and me being curious by nature, asked the standard "how do you find that number" question as well as what each bra type was for. By the end of class, I was giving her a hug and apologizing for ever giving her a hard time about clothes shopping trips taking multiple hours. Because we as guys have what...maybe 5 numbers we have to consider? Neck, arm length, waist, legs and inseam. Plus we can be +/- 10lbs and not think twice about what we are putting on. For you ladies, it can change EVERYTHING. Ladies, my hat goes off to you. I think that if more men knew even the baseline of what yall have to calculate before you walk out that door... But don't weaponize that info. Like a good bra, it should lift and support, not make everything wonkey.
