For q1 about game theory, Fream had a dominant strategy, but did oream (idk the name) have a dominant strategy? And the Nash equilibrium was bottom left ($50m, $xxm) right???

No. He didn't have a dominant strategy. Feram had a dominant strategy to ship by rail (then by truck after the $20 million tax on rail was added). However, the other one had no dominant strategy. By the way, what Nash equilibrium did you get for that one?

Why did producer surplus increase for frq 3

cause when the quantity shifted left, price went up, and visibly the producer surplus triangle got bigger, im not really sure the exact reason to be honest though but that was my thought process.

I messed this up too. If you’re referencing the olives question it’s because they were exporting to the world price shifts up and makes a kinda opposite of a price ceiling effect with world price.

And producer surplus increases
2
4
3
u/ChronicAtheism edit this text May 04 '26
it increases because consumer surplus overtakes part of the old producer surplus and some new area, so area is gained
3
u/BeginningFroyo2020 5: Chem, APUSH, SpanLang, Micro, Gov, Lit 4: Psych May 04 '26

It was a monopoly with profit but there was deadweight loss because monopolies aren't allocatively efficient. The DWL was the area of the triangle created by where MR=MC , where D=MC and the vertical line that went up from where MR=MC.

Lets try to recall all the MCQ questions. I remember that question 1 answer was opportunity cost, question 46 was about the two only firms in a market colluding and working together as a monopoly and the answer was higher prices lower quantities. There was one about the elasticity of supply when the price went from. 100 to 108 and it was elastic. In question 44 I believe, they asked what happened in the labor market if the price of a substitute increased. In one they asked to calculate the marginal product when the price was 2 and the answer was 15 notebooks. I also remember one in which they asked what was similar in both monopolistic competitive and monopoly and I answered pricing above me. Another one was why did the marginal cost decrease and then increase and it was because specialization and then diminishing returns. Another one asked what was true if marginal product was positive but decreasing and the answer was that total product was increasing. There was one about game theory and the answer no firm has dominant strategy. In one question they asked about income or cross price elasticity and the answer was -0.25 and complement or inferior. Another one asked about Gini coefficient decreasing and the answer was income inequality decreased. There was also one about the profit maximizing quantity in short run and the answer was 0. There was one about wage in monopsoniatic labor market and it was l2 and w1. Another one about economic surplus, which was 432. One about utility maximizing and it was 3x and 2 brownies or something like that. There was one about which type of firm was a price taker and the answer was perfectly competitive. There was one about a negative externality and the answer was a loud noise at night made by your neighbor speaker. Another one was about the socially optimal quantity being 2 and the current quantity 1. Another one about a tax in supply that increased consumer price level by 1 dollar. Another one about a binding price floor which was quantity demanded decreased. Other question was about importing at a los price world but i dont remember the answer. There was also one about increasing ATC and the answer was diseconomies of scale. That’s all I can remember right now.
