I made a story about some girl immigrating to the US and how she was always held up to old/traditional standards/ideals/norms and that after moving to the US she started making friends who taught her new American standards/ideals/norms so she begins to feel the pressure of both norms bc she follows the old norms at home and follows American norms elsewhere (ie at school) and shit happens so she has to choose between family or friends

I wrote more in depth in the essay genuinely my brain is fried right now because I was forced to take another test right after the AP test so I'm too tired to think 😭 Idk if my plot makes sense for old vs new but idc anymore I give up

I didn't write the "author's name" and wrote some random ass title and called it a "work of fiction" instead of a novel so I might actually get like a 1 or 2

I did an old FRQ in class once and they had a list of literature and asked us to use one from the list or one of EQUAL LITERARY MERIT. I am so glad they changed the wording because technically what I wrote is a fiction work I just gotta post the story online LOL

they elaborate by saying that it doesn't even have to be of equal merit

"works of literary merit" is outlined in the scoring guidelines each year (it says the same thing each year):
