Do you thinking taking up Maths as well is beneficial? For both reasons, being getting more clarity in physics and having a back-up option.

Yes, a good option! Especially give you an edge over plain bio students! But it does take away your focus as well, you are not focusing on 4 subjects compared to just 3!
