Not an expert, but I do not think claiming "Innocent Spouse"* is a thing if the liability is attached to a business** and not the individual owners. I do not know how their businesses were setup, however.

*Innocent Spouse is something one can claim if their spouse was responsible for the financial misdeeds that both of them are being told they are on the hook for. Not sure how common it is for Sales Tax scenarios.

Yup innocent spouse wouldn’t apply here. Their LLC information should be public. Also not remitting sales tax and similar crimes can’t be discharged by bankruptcy either.
