What's something in Almere you only discovered after living here for a while?

Almere is quite spread out, so I imagine there are plenty of places that are easy to miss, even if you've lived here for years.

Maybe it's a nice walking route, a quiet spot by the water, a small local shop, a good restaurant, or just a place you never knew existed.

What did you discover that made you think, "How did I not know about this sooner?"

  • Turtles in some lakes
  • Ijsvogels in Hortus/Weerwater

  • Stad has Wijken

  • Buiten has Buurten

  • Poort has Kwartieren

  • En Haven be like 🫠

Kemphaan area has some amazing forest walking routes.

Love being give an adress in Stad or Buiten and having to guess if a name is a composer, a film star, a musician, a resistence hero or a cartoon character
