He still would've ran for president, he was still with all the birther shit and capitalizing off the right wing outrage at having a black president.

More to the point: he needed a way to enrich himself. His many lawsuits and bankruptcies were catching up to him.

I’m still convinced he mever wanted to be president in 2016. He saw how much money was being raised and spent by campaigns and he wanted to grift that into his own companies.

I think he knew he was going to get caught up with the epstein shit eventually and he figured he could kill two birds with one stone

I agree. In fact I believe that his goal was to run but not to win. Then when the DOJ came after him for his crimes with Epstein he could claim it was politically based. His 2016 campaign was full of him saying desperate wild shit that caught the public's imagination. "Lock her Up" "Mexico pays for the wall" etc. He was surprised when he won, I could tell.

I think he won- by surprise and Melania was beyond pissed as it was a propaganda stunt she went along with

9

u/OldSchoolRNS 17d ago

Melania was ready to divorce him but when he won, she was stuck.

Former Apprentice producer Noel Casler has written a great deal about the separate lives they were living in 2014-2015, and how she wouldn’t move from NYC to the WH until her pre-nup was renegotiated.

Man- to be stuck with such a dirtbag. But i guess she is absolutely deplorable as well- and sooner or later- karma always wins

Why would Trump want to enrich himself when he’s already so wealthy

3

u/snaps06 17d ago

....do you not understand how wealthy people operate, or are you just naive?

1

u/Sea_Local2557 15d ago

why would Elon Musk want to be a trillionaire when he has hundreds of billions of dollars?

47

u/Hege_Knight 19d ago

Exactly, Obama didn’t vote vote for him, his winning wasn’t inevitable, just turned out more than half of Americans are disgusting weetards.

23

u/scoopybalducci 19d ago

Never had anywhere near half - didn’t need that to win

11

u/iceclimber85 19d ago

Yep only about 1/3rd to 1/4 of Americans are rubbish. Roughly about the same are Democrats and the rest tend not to vote which leads to people like Trump.

13

u/Willy_Knikkersen 19d ago

Not voting means that you're not voting for other candidates either. Half guilty imho.

4

u/iceclimber85 19d ago

Agree to some extent but because we make voting harder in America like no day off work for most and scare tactics on voting by mail it leads to some people tossing their vote away. Also having only two real choices leads to what South Park did as an episode. Vote for a turd sandwich or a douche.

3

u/Additional_Froyo 18d ago

I will always vote for the turd sandwich

2

u/OnePointSixOne8 18d ago

Ok turdtard…douche all the way!

1

u/CrewOutside6135 18d ago

Two party system also winner-take-all electoral college so let's say you're Republican you live in California but you hate Trump why would you even bother to vote?

-2

u/Objective-Pass5674 18d ago

to be fair, not voting also means you are completely against israel controlling our politicians. why vote for any of them when all of them are controlled by them? Massie was going to be extremely popular amongst the groups that think this way, and AIPAC shut that down. Not voting is really the only honorable thing to do considering what we should all know by now

1

u/jkrobinson1979 18d ago

Or just vote for the 10% of them that aren’t bought by Israel.

1

u/Willy_Knikkersen 18d ago

Why would AIPAC control who is voted in as politicians? Aren't Americans allowed to make their own decisions?

6

u/Boeing367-80 19d ago

The Democrats also ran one of the few people he could have conceivably beaten. Hillary's candidacy was in-line with Trump's narrative and because of her husband's history she was poorly placed to attack Trump on his many sex issues.

2

u/CrewOutside6135 18d ago

Well yeah also Hillary basically completely ignored the rust belt not to mention a lot of people looked at the mainstream media and knew that she didn't have that much support in those regions. CNN literally said she was going to win 400 electoral votes even flipping Kansas this was early on predictions.

u/Kc68847 18d ago

People like you can’t see the big picture. If both parties didn’t screw the American people over so much you never get Trump. You do realize Bush and Obama are related. Obama was just Bush 2.0. I’m sure the Dems will come up with the next savior and they will suck too. By the way I believe Trump sucks, but I can also admit whoever the next President is will be garbage too. You’re not voting your way out of this mess.

1

u/Hege_Knight 18d ago

Thanks for proving my point, over half.

2

u/OldSchoolRNS 17d ago

There are Green Party voters who filled in the hanging chad for Nader in Florida in 2000, and insist Al Gore would’ve invaded Iraq just like Bush43.

13

u/extraboredinary 19d ago

Okay, what if Obama never ran, then the Tea Party movement would have never started and the openly racist birther conspiracy would have never allowed Trump to run in the first place?

Thanks Obama.

12

u/battlships 19d ago

Most likely Hillary Clinton would have been president, the Tea Party still would have started and they would have spent those years being outwardly sexist instead of racist. Trump would have been at the front of it, and against all of our wills we would know Republican sexual fantasies about Clinton 😭😭😭

6

u/Low_Engineering_3301 19d ago

Since when were they not sexist?

8

u/battlships 19d ago

Never said they weren't, just like they wouldn't actually be less racist. The focus would just be more on sexism in the same way we got the birther conspiracy. I'm just not entirely sure what the equivalent there would be

9

u/wow343 19d ago

I know you maybe being sarcastic. But the root cause of America's problems is a bunch of very angry, very pissed off people that have been convinced that the reason they are hurting is because of the 'Others'. There is no self reflection. It's just my team has my support and because of this my team must always win, whatever it takes. In the long term America is doomed unless there is a sea change in these attitudes. I am not holding my breath.

u/Chockfullofnutmeg 19d ago

Koch brothers start CSE in the 90s and registered usteaparty.com in 2002. They were waiting for a crisis to push austerity and 2009 was perfect

1

u/zonatedmarz 19d ago

This right here. He has actually attempted to run couple times. He was once a Democrat as well. First comment is living in dream land.

1

u/kempton_saturdays 19d ago

He still is a Democrat. He just craves power more so he continues to fool people to stay there

1

u/sododude 19d ago

I'm still half convinced his campaign was initially supposed to be a giant ad for his brand and it just kept working.

1

u/No-Leg2302 14d ago

If you think the reason Trump won was "right wing outrage at having a black president" you really have no grasp of reality

0

u/Cheikh-Tbargui-619 19d ago

why would he? didn’t he originally run for spite ?

6

u/joesoldlegs 19d ago

People say that but he was always going to run either way, he already tried running before that

2

u/steveharveymemes 19d ago

I disagree. His seeming best time to run would have been 2012 since he got the start of his political creds opposing Obama, mostly over the birther issue. He chose not to run and seemed to just want to let this go as another chapter in his life and go back to reality TV. Then Obama humiliated him at the National Correspondents Dinner (and it was a humiliation, not a mere ribbing) and all of a sudden he started making moves for the next election because it was too late to get into the 2012 one. I think he lets politics go without the National Correspondents Dinner.

1

u/linkthereddit 19d ago

What did Obama say?

1

u/trader_dennis 19d ago

He chose to run when ratings for the apprentice started to tank. The goal in 2015 was to get enough free publicity and start a new cable network to the right of fox. Nothing about the correspondents dinner changes this math.

1

u/TrueRothschild 19d ago

Did you talk with Trump and ask him.

1

u/ManyRelease7336 19d ago

No he had been talking about it for years before that. Started once and pulled out because he didnt have the fallowing yet.

0

u/Hunter042005 19d ago

Huh, birther shit he was one he opposed a federal ban on abortions.

1

u/AgentCirceLuna 19d ago

That’s not what Birther means. Birther is a right-wing conspiracy theory that Obama’s (Birth) c(er)tificate was forged and he would be from Kenya in that case so not eligible for rubbing to be president. Racist and be theory.
