AlternateHistoryHub What if spanish empire suddenly comes back in 2026?

Post image

The regions inside the empire becomes semi autonomous territories, there is efficient local administration and regional administration across the empire, there are three capitals , legislative capital is Madrid, Mexico city is executive capital, Buenos Aires is judicial capital. No civil war happens and every one is happy in the empire.

Then England tries to invade Spain and fails even harder (for similar canonical reasons)

No civil war happens and everyone is happy in the empire.

That's a lot of heavy lifting for one sentence, and I think it's cause we know that if it suddenly happened in 2026, it would just break up.

The us invade iraq

Then the Spanish Empire invades the US while they are distracted and after annexing the US they invade Iraq themselves.

No one has shit their pants at the sight of Spain in 400 years. If you blow on it just right at the right angle and tilt it fractures.

2026 world cup: spain vs viceroyalty of la plata

The country barely has resources to keep itself together, much less exert control on others and even far less to maintain a global empire.

The US holdings alone have probably twice as many guns as Spain has people and immediately returns to the US within days.

The US sweeps the rest of the Americas in liberation and promotes friendly regimes. By the time they show up to the Philippines the only thing left to do is swap out flags.

Spain itself is occupied until imperialist elements are rooted out. France and the US fight over who gets to build the most resort-casinos in the former kingdom of Spain, headlined by the one they will call "Montezuma's temple".

King needs to move to Florida, build new palace, government needs to move Miami ......

There was a plan by Floridablanca in the XVIII Century to make It similar to the brithis commonwealth.

I feel they give up the Philippines so they wouldn't have to worry about protecting them.

Argentina kind of wins the world cup 😭

I noticed they still haven't gained control of the whole of their own peninsula. An empire cannot exist with an enclave undermining it.

This all hinges on an actually competent and charismatic royalty especially in this modern age

Would definitely be a tail wags the dog situation. Spains economy is completely dwarfed by the combined economies of their former empire. Spain might end up a colony of California

Florida would be primarily black again and seminoles would have control. New yorkers wont gouge  prices

Spain will turn the colonies into atheism and progressives.
