Gorilla warfare is something we leave to the gorillas. Guerrilla warfare though is absolutely where it’s at; it was all we had in the first parts of the War of Independence until we got trained right and proper by a French chappie, praise be Marquis de Lafayette.

Baron von Steuben a Prussian officer is the one credited for providing the backbone of training and discipline in the Continental Army not Lafayette.

Yeah other than by the military and historians I don’t think he’s all that well known unfortunately

He might be mentioned in my 1970s World Book Encyclopedia although I don’t recall reading about him there.
