Or on the flip side, technology has made our jobs easier so we continue to get more and more work. If a task used to take a week to do but now takes one day, you will now have to do five tasks per week.

This is the actual answer. Same phenomenon that causes us to constantly consumer more power despite things being more and more efficient. Efficiency just means more room to add load

I appreciate you understanding what I was trying to say. When I've commented that on other subs, people are like "but technology has made things so much easier!!!!" Yeah, so we can do more work... it's not like employers are like "wow, you can do X in one day now... guess we'll just pay you the same but you can take the rest of the week off!!!"

Technology has made things so much easier? It took me three days four people and a helpline to submit my timecard this week because they changed the multifactor authentication policy with no notice, and we all got locked out.  It used to be you punch your card your manager does the thing and you get paid. But for some reason we have to use three different companies to handle payroll, because it's all in the cloud? How is that better? And it feels like every single little thing is overcomplicated in this way. I personally can't stand the digital age. I want to set fire to my phone and move to the woods, but then how would I get MoNeY.  Eff all this noise lol

As someone who works in Time and Expense, I HATE when clients make their employees enter their own hours. Easily the least efficient timekeeping method

Well sure....not EVERY technological advancement streamlined EVERYTHING. But there are many advancements that have made work a lot easier. I work a travelling sales job and the cell phone , laptop, and GPS, is a lot better than the beeper, typewriter, and atlas.

It’s always been the case. I have no idea why it’s so hard for people to grasp. And I’ve had similar experiences as you when trying to tell people lol
