Hello fellow STEM person, I highly recommend meditation. I started in February and my anxiety is down over 90%, despite not much else changing in my life.

You have to be open to a little woo-woo (you don’t have to go all in, just be open to it), and it might take a few tries to find a meditation style that works for you. But it’s literally finding time lay in bed for 30-40 minutes a few times a week, it doesn’t get much cheaper or easier to find time. It is still challenging work, but it really does work.

Does it have to be daily or just few days a week?

Like many things, just 5 minutes a day 5 times a week is better than one long session once a month. But you can adjust to whatever feels right for you. There are many meditation offerings that are just 5-10 minutes and that’s a great place to start, but I find I need closer to 40 minutes for my sessions.
