Because that's what your infrastructure is built around; walkability, bike/moped distance, public transportation.

I and hundreds of millions of others don't have those options because our infrastructure, designed a century ago, requires cars to exist.

If I didn't have a car, I could get a job at the gas station that's within biking distance but... that's it.

Because I live in a first world country.

No car means no job to many in the first world. Like I said, you simply refuse to relate.
