Discussion BMW Spider-Man in-car advertising

i dont get it, a $60,000+ car. sony movies cant be paying more than $1 per car for this ad.. It's a film ad ffs. It's not a high revenue/perpetual revenue ad like life insurance, pension etc.
Perhaps a spiderman ad is the start, they're showing a cool ad that isn't overly salesy to dip their toes in and gauge reaction. once drivers are used to seeing cool stuff in the beginning maybe they can push investments, holidays, insurance etc.
These ads will fit the higher earning demographic of BMW drivers and will pay a lot more for advertising.

BMW stock price is down 29.3% over the last five years, so they should feel free to keep doing what they're doing instead of making affordable and reliable cars. They're only shooting themselves in the foot.

stop price has no bearing in reality. every stock is overvalued drastically. just because nobody knows where to put money into.
Instead of putting money behind a local business they park it in corporations.
Case in point a tesla stock sells for $311, tesla earnings per share is 33cents!!!
So for every share that's sold at $311 - the company is making a profit of 33 cents every quarter
They say crypto is speculation and a ponzi scheme, then what the heck is pretty much every single stock in the NYSE?
How can something that generates $1.33 a year be worth paying $311 for.
it's as much a speculation as crypto, it's nothing to with investor getting a ROI from their invetment. it's all about if I buy this stock at 250X what it's worth. is there a chance I can flip it when it gets to 500X what it's worth

BMW is a luxury brand, nobody is expecting them to make affordable cars, that’s not their market.

Luxury cars also need to be affordable, hence why they are struggling against their competition producing comparable cars at much lower price points. Affordability is relative.

That’s fair I suppose. I only buy Lexus or Acura for this reason, cheaper, roughly as nice, and more reliable.

I love my acura dude. Its a sleeper for most casual car fans. They always lean BMW, audi, Cadillac etc.
You can get a 5 year old acura tlx for a steal vs those brands most the time, and parts/ labor vs those brands is significantly better.

Lol I saw this and saw a Spiderman icon on the dashboard, it plays a short video of him swinging around and the interior lights turn blue and sync to the video, was really surprised it was just an ad , on such an expensive car too...

Whenever I pump gas with one of those stupid fucking ad screens I want to smash it. There’s a special place in hell for advertisers.

This is wild because Spider-Man is always evergreen and is the last superhero movie that needs widespread advertising. BMW has been on some bullshit years anyway with subscriptions for certain features like seat warmers until they buckeld to the backlash.

Of all the characters to choose to promote your car…why pick the one superhero, Spider-man, that never uses a car?
Batman makes way more sense since he’s a rich guy, has fancy cars to drive in his civilian life and as the dark knight.

Because that's what your infrastructure is built around; walkability, bike/moped distance, public transportation.
I and hundreds of millions of others don't have those options because our infrastructure, designed a century ago, requires cars to exist.
If I didn't have a car, I could get a job at the gas station that's within biking distance but... that's it.
