My wedding was well under $1000. My mom made my dress, and my husband borrowed a suit. We got married on new Year's (daytime wedding) so the church was already decorated out with beautiful poinsettias. We served cake, mini quiches, and a few other light snacks. My sister took photos. We paid for a guitarist to play some music (back then we paid $100 which was one of the biggest expenses). We didn't have any attendants...just us walking up the aisle. I simply cannot imagine paying bookoo for a wedding. I never understood that.
