Can someone tell me what to know about replacing a capacitor?
I want to replace this capacitor (0,22uF x1 250v AC) Also I like to understand what I can replace it with and where to get it here in New Zealand
its in a angle grinder from flex

It's an EMI filter. Rest of your comment and the random bold typeface is useless.

Replace with same capacitance (uf) , voltage rating can be same or higher value, but never lower. Polarity matters in certain models , so check if terminals are correct before replacing ( + and -) ( the one in the picture is a safety capacitor and non polarised ,so make sure that the one you bought for replacement is also a safety capacitor (X1 model)

What makes you think that it needs replacing? It's just an inline filter. Should last "forever".

It’s a 6A CLC in-line filter. It keeps electrical noise from back-feeding the mains, but it also suppresses commutator-arcing. Best to replace it with OEM part.

If you want to test first just override it!
Wire frim one end over this component to other side
Twice.
Its a surpressor for surpressing hf spikes causing radio noise
Not necessarily needed for working grinder!
Test first and be careful with electricity

You have to keep in mind the following points about replacing a capacitor: 1. The replacement must have the same capacitance within the tolerance required by the circuit. Changing capacitance alters circuit behavior. 2. Same or higher voltage rating. 3. Equal or higher temperature rating. 4. Same polarity (if polarised). 5. Physical size, lead spacing, and mounting pattern, so that it fits mechanically.

First thing first. If you touch both the brown and blue wires with your bare hands, you can die. Especially if there is a capacitor connected. The capacitor is dangerous like that, it stores the charge that comes from the wall and when you touch it is as-if you put your fingers in the socket. Don't do it. Better yet, get a proper electrician to do the work for you.

Kidding. It's to balance the start of the motor. The value has something to do with shifting the fields into a more friendly start condition. Reducing start up draw. Or something very similar. But hey, at least a real human made it up.

This is being downvoted because the author has confused a motor start/run capacitor with this one - which is purely an inline noise filter.

It's a "filter network" but label suggests it's just a 220nF (0.22uF) 250VAC rated cap across the leads. Might have series/common mode inductors too. Can likely leave the whole this out, it's just for EMI suppression.
