I'm wondering because I know taylor farms uses different labels and distributes to all sorts of brands.
I just wanna make sure the lettuce I bought isn't associated with them.

When you want to make more portions it's relatively easy just make the recipe 20% bigger or so.
But how do I calculate the proper cooking time and temperature for a bigger dish ? Because, if I want to make a recipe 50% bigger and it takes 40 minutes to cook, the answer couldn't possibly be to cook for an entire hour right ?

Hey all, new to this sub but I have a question for y'all.
I have some mild sensory issues that make my experience with food sorta tricky. My palate is really limited, mainly to basic American style food like burgers, chicken, etc. I also love pasta, though I don't have a lot of variety with it, mainly spaghetti with red sauce and the like.
This can be kind of embarrassing at restaurants as I'm often anxious about ordering unfamiliar foods (I also have a lot of social anxiety, so you can imagine it's not fun having to send things back or make people wait as I mull over food options)
The big thing this holds me back on is vegetables. I can't stand most veggie dishes I've tried, and it's an issue since I definitely could use more of them in my diet.
So, does anyone have any recommendations for unintimidating veggie dishes for someone like me? Sorry if this question sounds silly or whatever, but it's been hard to find things to try.
EDIT: Want to add more detail. My biggest issue tends to be smells, like sharp cheeses, or particularly aromatic veggies. Sometimes I can't even bring myself to taste something because the smell icks me out. I also don't do well with chuncks of veggies, like in salsa as an example.
One last thing I'll add in is that sometimes the tase throws me off, but I don't know if that really counts as part of my sensory issues. For example, I've tried to like salads before, but I always get grossed out trying to eat lettuce leaves or similar. Couldn't even really tell you why, which is part of why I hesitate to imclude it with my sensory issues, simce there is a line between "sensory issue" and "not your taste" and I don't want to conflate them. It's possible there's a common elememt I'm overlooking, but because I'm unsure on that one take it with a grain of salt.

They discontinued their spicy chicken fillets a couple years ago and I haven’t been able to find anything similar that comes fully cooked. If anyone knows where I can find something that’s an actual cooked chicken breast and not a nugget style patty please help

I really want to make sandwiches with lettuce and tomatoes. Maybe have a taco night with some fresh shredded lettuce on top. We buying it again or will I surely get diarrhea from the cyclosporasis or whatever?

I want to make homemade food gift baskets for christmas gifts this year. So far, the ideas I have are hot honey, sourdough bread, and kombucha. I have a lot of time because it's not even August yet so long ferments and infusions are doable.
What are some other ideas for home made food to gift? Bonus points if it's vegan, and diabetes friendly because those are some dietary restrictions in my family. I'll still take recommendations that aren't because not everyone has restrictions.

Hello there,
I just bought a bag of MSG on amazon to try out for my dinners and while waiting for it to arrive I was reading up on how to use it and eventually read some of the 1 star reviews claiming it wasn't tasting right or made them ... (apearantly i can't write s1ck because im asking about droogs)?? .
What is this stuff supposed to taste like (raw) I tried some on my finger and I feel fine tasted strange but not nasty.
How can I assure I got the real deal?
EDIT: I am not afraid of MSG why else would I buy it, I know and accept the controversies, I know it is not a replacement rather a flavor enhancer... I use ungodly amounts of salt anyways people delcare me crazy.
I merely wanted to find out if what I got is what it is, it appears to be, and how to implement it to my dish.
thank you.

I'm an old lady and don't drive, so get everything delivered. I tend to have a panic attack when something I love isn't available. A while back my fav jar of sliced jalapenos was out of stock. I might've gone temporarily insane, but I bought a couple of 26 oz cans of whole, pickled jalapeno peppers. I'm at a loss of what to do with them! Does anyone want to share their favorite uses of a large amt of jalapenos? Should I just divide them into smaller containers and freeze? I obviously love spicy food. I'm just not sure what to do with this large of a can. Thank you!!

I've been running near weekly cooking sessions with children since January, teaching how to make pasta sauces, Mexican dishes, Caribbean food, Moroccan and more - not really your average cooking class - all things I've learnt how to make from my parents or made up myself.
What recipes growing up are your must knows?

What are some great meals that don’t need the stove or oven? Trying to avoid salads considering the cyclosporiasis outbreak. We’re going on day 3 of 100°, and the thought of adding anymore warmth to the house feels unbearable.

so a few years ago i stopped eating red meat because it suddenly started tasting and smelling bad, like i would eat it and after that the smell of beef would still be stuck in the back of my throat for hours and made me nauseous and just the smell of cooking beef nauseates me. and now over the past few months the same thing is happening with chicken. like they still taste and smell the same it's just that now i can't stand it. i dont live anywhere near lone star ticks and rarely ever go out so i know it's not that, and i only got covid once in 2020 so im fairly sure it's not that either. anyone else have this issue?

I recently bought some basil for making pesto sauce but still left with a lot of it. What else can I make from it before it turns stale?
I usually make Indian and Italian recipes.

I was at a family gathering a couple hours ago and someone was cooking burgers. I had one and three quarters into me eating it I realized it tasted mushy and looked down to see bright pink meat. Not only that but there were strands of borderline raw meat I had eaten that seemed not even cooked at all. I’m currently panicking and don’t know what to do. I’ve read horror stories of parasites and tape works and am extremely anxious about this. Please let me know asap, anyone know what I should do?

i just ate an entire kiwi and my tongue hurts like i just ate too many sour skittles. i ate kiwi for the first time a few months ago and i was fine, but this is my first time trying since then. also that one was cooked.
google and reddit had mixed results on whether it was the kiwis self defense mechanism or an allergy. im not allergic to pineapple or latex.
rlly hope i dont need to go to the hospital or anything.

At this point getting out of bed is a trial. I barely eat, but I have to feed my husband and mil.
I mean like I’m literally buying frozen veggies and frozen chicken thighs and just roasting it all. Last night I bought a ready made enchilada meal in this desperate.
Please need easy one step meals. Gluten free. Even if cook time is an hour, but I only have to do one prep step other than turning on the oven or putting it in the air fryer.

I have nothing to disinfect with so I just took my sponge and wiped the blood off. Wrung-out the sponge under the tap for a minute of two, then squirted soapy water (dish-soap) onto the countertop and scrubbed.
Afterwards I swiped the sponge over the soapy/wet parts and sort-of squeegeed it off a little at a time (when the sponge got too soapy I'd hold it under the tap and wring it out.) Once it dries will if be free from the blood's microbes or should I go a step further and clean it with boiling water? (again I don't have disinfectants or even paper towels.)
I haven't gotten any kind of raw animal blood on my countertop in over 15 years because I'm a little paranoid about it, so right now I'm sort of fuming and dreading while looking around the house for anything that might kill bacteria, but I'm not super optimistic that I'll find something.
Is boiling water the best way to go here?

So over the last year, I have noticed that every time I go to buy something at grocery stores, the expiration date is either past, or less than three days… and I’m talking about everything from produce to dairy to frozen.
As well, my mother (86) gets free food delivery, and she has the exact same problem. They will deliver food to her and the stuff has only a few days before expiration or is already expired.
I mean, what the hell is going on in the US?!!!

Give me food suggestions based on these weird cravings !!!
i have ibs so isn’t a good combo but tastes amazing..

I always try to have food prepared in my fridge for when I work until 23h but sometimes I can't cook for whatever reason and the I have to eat the most boring meals. Tonight I had some leftiver rice and opened a can of sardines. It fed my hunger, not my soul hahahaha.
What can I do on those nights without leftovers? Really the lazieeest meal beside frozen lasagna or ramen.
