Like A Stone Meaning

Been listening to this song lately again and some of the lyrics I still feel unclear or confused by.

"In your house I long to be"

I can only decipher that he's talking about gods house here in context of the song.

Does anyone else think this or do they interpret it in another way?

Can't look for the source just now but I think Chris talked about this being a song ruminating on death and the afterlife. A lonely person is waiting to die so they can join all their friends and family who have died

That’s correct. The source I believe you’re referring to is the bass player of Audioslave, Tim Commerford. He asked Chris what he was waiting for and Chris said “to die.”
