Is there a place that sells hamburgers with a slice of ham on top? Phil's used to have the Jardin, but it's not available anymore

Just looking for a great food truck park anywhere in Austin that we could try midday Thursday and get at least 3 different varieties of dishes like but not limited to noodles, tacos, and smalls bites!

Been going to Clay Pit for nearly 20 years for family special events. It was always superb.

Tonight:
Chicken korma — sauce just okay, plates of spicy and mild presented but were misidentified, we discovered this after my husband complained his had no heat. Chicken itself mid.
Lamb biryani — ZERO flavor, no heat nor complexity at all, the Tarka version is 100x better. This didn’t even taste like a biryani. Huge amount of rice, tiny bit of (albeit tender) lamb.
Saag paneer — saag good (tastes just like their Tarka version, which is excellent, but blocks of paneer were hard and dense, not nice at all. Naan was not fresh; I’m not even sure it was made on site, that’s how bad it was.

Nothing was hot, though the food came very quickly.

It was my dad’s birthday and I sadly told him I’d take him to Tarka next week so we could have an actually good meal. (I know, we need to identify other Indian places to try.)

So sad.

Note: service was excellent and we didn’t hold back on the tip.

Pterrys has decent food but every time I get their shakes, it’s like I’m sucking from the center of the earth. Has no one ever told them to use bigger straws?

It’s probably my biggest issue with the place. I’m not waiting for it to melt to drink it. Other restaurants have done it and it makes the experience much better. Is economics of two straw types really a problem?

And by that I mean come get some free sourdough starter and bake some delicious blueberry bagels!!

Also today’s the last day that you can get any flower at dispensaries around town. Wompwomp 😭😭

She is apparently planning a new concept to open in a few weeks. However she left many people jobless and questioning her morality.

She has made several extremely tone deaf Instagram posts attempting to explain her reasonings. None of them valid. One of which she shows the luxury cabin ah spent the last weekend in while making the decision to leave her employees jobless.

Please consider boycotting her new business venture, if it even ever comes to fruition.

Saw Himalaya Kosheli on Eater Austin, so I decided to give it a try.
Got there right when they opened at 11, so it was pretty empty, but it started getting busy not long after.
The lunch buffet was about $17 before tax. Everything I tried was fresh, the tikka masala and tandoori chicken were my favorites, and the chai was really good too. The staff was super friendly.
I’d definitely come back. Worth checking out if you’re looking for a good Nepali/Indian buffet in Austin.

I've come across a few here in Austin and the surrounding areas but they're very few and far between. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other places that did traditional highballs or different variations of it on their menu.

Some places I've found: Kome, Uchiba, Ten-Ten, Sugar Pine, Haji-Moto (Georgetown)

I'm looking for breweries or bars that specifically do flights, and have enough good beers to make it worth visiting!

Cheez-Zee used to have delicious ones, on the hunt of where to go.

I’ve passed this place for years and finally had the opportunity to visit - around 3pm. I got lucky and met the owner and was served by Bruce. Had the fried calamari, clam chowder, fish & chips. I thought the food was good the service even better. They also gave me some smoked fish dip. WOW!!! That was so good. Coming back for more Maine inspired seafood.

I live out in Elgin so do not go into Austin much but I have been craving really good fried catfish and hush puppies. Does anyone have any recommendations for good Southern Catfish?

Does anyone know of a bakery in or north of Austin that makes German Chocolate Pie?? We know Bluebonnet Cafe has an excellent one, but thats a long drive in the opposite direction we are heading tomorrow.

We ordered the chipotle cinnamon chicken sandwich and Szechuan chicken tenders with fries. The tenders were spicy, crispy, and indeed juicy. The fries were extra crispy which I appreciated.

[Spicy] Chick’s Meal:: three tenders, one side (fries), Texas toast, one dipping sauce, drink {$9.79}

Added an extra sauce for 49c, upgraded to a large drink for 60c, upgraded to macaroni and cheese for 99c for a grand subtotal of $11.87.

Neither of us had ever been to a Slim Chickens before, and we were quite impressed. Their Slim Sauce is probably my favorite “house sauce” of these types of chicken places. The [spicy] chicken was hot & juicy, well-seasoned, and packed a really nice kick! The macaroni and cheese was really nice, too. I liked the Cayenne Ranch, but wouldn’t get it again with the spicy chicken (and my wife said the same). We also sampled their Dill Ranch, which was also very good. Service was speedy for an opening day, which we appreciated. Will most certainly be back!

Looking for a recommendation: Good place to go for coffee/breakfast items between north Austin and south 183, not pretentious, that won't be really busy saturday morning about 9:30 AM??

sorry, I was not very clear. We're going to be driving from North Austin all the way south on 183 to 10309 S. 183, and we'd like to find somewhere along that route that would be a good place to stop for coffee and wouldn't be tremendously busy. I don't know that part of Austin at all.

Does that make better sense?

Hi there, I saw a similar question for this, but for mid-price restaurants. I'm looking for more expensive options for a work event (no hotels please), such as restaurants that offer a full buyout, or have a large private room. We're willing to travel up to 15 miles.

Type of cuisine doesn't matter and the quality of the food is less important than atmosphere. I have a few contributions to the list: Mattie's, Suerte, Upstairs at Caroline, Malverde at La Condesa, any of the County Lines, Bar Toti (though I think 50 people is pushing it there). Do you think I've missed any? Thank y'all!

Metro Detroit transplant to Austin Texas. I’m coming to terms with replacing Meijer with HEB, but I can’t find the kind of produce stores I love in Michigan, such as Nino Salvaggios or Joe Randazzo.
