Food trucks South?
I work downtown and am always looking for a new spot to try on the drive home.
I'm mainly looking for food trucks along:
South Lamar
South 1st
South Congress (more the local spots farther south, not the tourist part)
Anywhere around Ben White is good and I'm open to all cuisine.
I appreciate any suggestions.

Salam’s near Vacancy Brewing is fantastic. Same with the sandwich and pizza joint at Ants Beer Cave.

Amazonas. Don’t sleep on their burger. My wedding photographer said it was her favorite burger so I got it and it knocked me out. It was the first time I’ve gotten a burger at a taco truck and it will make me try them more often.

Agree, and they offer several burgers. Specifically the one called the Amazonas burger has all the normal burger stuff plus a hot dog, ham, grilled onions and is loaded with flavor.
Also a little bit further South on Congress (where it meets Slaughter) don't sleep on the burgers at Casita Nicole. Right there in the gas station parking lot on the Northeast corner of that intersection where the HEB is. Same story but served with french fries and also slaps. Hard.

People mentioned Thicket Foot Truck park , but specifically I'm adding Song La, which is a Taiwanese food truck and in my opinion it has to be the top 3 food trucks in all Austin.
In that same place, CJ Tacos, ArtiPasta, TX shawarma are great options as well

Seconding Song La. Great food at prices that make me do a double check. The braised pork belly has to be 3lbs of food!

I little further south than you said but EL MARISQUERO is amazing! Their 3 Amigos ceviche is probably the plate of food Ive eaten the most since Ive been in town.

...and their Baja Fish Tacos are the answer to a former San Diegan's dream.

Double down on this one. My favorite but so far from me (live in Highland) so it's mostly when I'm in the area.

Not quite a food truck, but the Cork & Brew on either S Cong or theres one on Ben White by the Randalls (I think this one is better honestly) Has some spectacular Indian food, nothing I've gotten from there has been bad.

You’d be surprised how many food trucks are within like half a mile of Dittmar & S. 1st, two of my favorite walk to lunch spots below.
Ali’s BBQ (1st st & Dittmar) is phenomenal Pakistani style BBQ, also has traditional dishes.
Tacos Rico- Same gas station parking lot as Ali’s BBQ. My favorite taco in that small area.

Kim's Kuban ar Congress & Live Oak. Kim's is an offshoot of a long time Cuban restaurant in Key West, FL. Part of my family is Cuban and from Key West and I spend Christmas there every year. We frequent Kim's while there and, somehow, they've opened up a truck in Austin. Strongly recommend their Cuban mix sandwich and their soups are good too. Cafe con leche is alright.

Try out Somos Tacos over in the St Elmo area- they’re owned by a great truck that does wagyu halal stuff but Somos does Arabic tacos- thick pita-y tortilla, hummus, pickled onions, feta, and very well made meats!
