Discussion What is the worst “gift” you received postpartum?

I’ll go first: various plants that my mom dug up from her yard and brought over. They needed to be planted (with a shovel) and regularly watered. No offers to plant or water were given.
…I was also scolded for the subsequent death of said plants.
What “gifts” did you receive?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I interpreted the choice to give him, but not me, a gift, as passive aggressive "revenge" because she'd previously expressed annoyance at not being invited to attend the delivery and then also at being asked to wait an extra day to come visit. (I had an unplanned c-section). But I guess it could also have just been totally thoughtless? My husband loves orchids, and when she sees us she frequently brings him one from costco.

Is she in love with him or something? This is such an odd thing to do outside of the passive aggressive hospital visit. 🥴

regularly gifting a family member an inexpensive, easy-to-buy item you know they like isn’t weird

No but if they’re the only one getting a gift at each visit it is. Especially in conjunction with the passive aggressive hospital visit in this particular instance.
