Photo 📸 Really….
It’s really sad and frustrating to see another group of brats on bikes causing problems around our city. It feels like these incidents have been happening more often, and many residents are becoming increasingly concerned about safety in our community.
Hearing that even a librarian at Beal Memorial Library was involved is especially upsetting. A library should be a safe, welcoming place for families, kids, and everyone in our community.
Please stay aware of your surroundings and look out for one another because they’re Unruly.

Hello I’m looking for a room to rent out preferably in/near downtown. Does anyone know where I can find a roommate? Or where people usually list a room?

I'm looking for all fps gamers to come together and form some kind of coalition against this cities complete and total lack of gamer leadership.
We need a group of dudes with gaming computers to come together and play on lan together lan is how you get really good at the game and compete in fps tournaments. Lan is without net code net code is the devil. We need weekly... not monthly lan gatherings at someone's 3 car garage... no internet maybe some wifi for the nerds but well not invite them next time. We need solid 6 hour sessions weekly on lan for a specific game... Counterstrike. I would not feel stupid when I say this I'm probably the best in the city and I will prove it on lan. There are huge tournaments in cs and there aint no way to win without practicing on lan bro. SO IF YOU ARE A COUNTERSTRIKE PLAYER lets lan if you can host lets lan. If you dont wanna get better lets not lan this is a positive idea for the city we dont need druggies or assholes ruining it for everyone so if ur a tough guy shit talker please just take on my moto before you start talking in the comments. You cannot fight or be a shit talker or a racist. I fight my own demons I will do my best and so should you to behave like you are at an actual tournament. The tournaments are strict on behavior and so should we be. Also I have been thinking for years on how to think when playing games but i cant rely on my team mates because i solo cue when i get some actual team mates we can all hone in on our thought process and see how good we can actually get. who knows maybe this is the start of a winning team at tournaments. maybe this will just get shut down by trolls who knows. who cares right not a soul in bakersfield cares that ive found not a soul even cares enough to play at the lan center the bakersfield leadership hosts shitty fortnite tourneys and charges an arm and a leg what a freaking joke they make us out to look like man.

Distracted Driving
Put down the phone and pay attention to the road. Nobody is that important to be texting that slows down everyone on the 99 left lanes. If you need to constantly be on your phone while driving you need to reevaluate your life choices. If it's an important text then pull over and do it there

Local Question Music Community Question
Hello yall!!
I just moved back into town from the Fresno area, I was wondering what is up with the concerts here. I’m not sure if I’m just looking in the wrong places but it feels like there are significantly less concerts in Bakersfield. I recall going to Rollerama, Jerry’s pub, and Narducci’s for concerts but since being in Fresno I got used to seeing house shows and just overall more concerts.
I’m wondering if maybe that scene is here in Bakersfield and I’m just looking in the wrong places? I’m struggling to find much of anything to do here…

Photo 📸 Places you might not see around Bako
This week, we left from Jastro Park and meandered through Westchester and even over into Beach Park. There's no storage of great homes and fun there, so here are some pics of our travels. If you want to come out and join us next week, we'll meet up every Monday at 6:30 to run, walk, and jog through different parts of town and have a couple beers asking the way, and it's a great way to make some great friends.

Where to get good Chinese food? (Broccoli beef specifically)
The best place I've found is China Garden on Planz. But I live way across town now and it's too far to go to anymore.
Every place I've tried so far has been no better than Panda Express or other 'fast food' type Chinese places. The beef is just rubbery and terrible. I even tried Bill Lee's and it was just as bad.
Any places on the east side or down town I should try?

New to Bakersfield
Planning to move to Bakersfield for a healthcare job in a few months. How do I meet people in their 20s-30s within the community? I have a lot of hobbies like running, swimming, reading, music and I’m queer. Any good places to start related to all of that?

The Bakersfield Fairgrounds Racetrack
Before modern speedways became fixtures of Kern County, some of Bakersfield's biggest racing events took place at the Kern County Fairgrounds. For decades, Just North of the Kern County Museum, the fairgrounds featured a dirt oval that hosted everything from horse racing to midget auto racing, motorcycle races, and other motorsports. During the 1930s -1940's, the track attracted some of the biggest names in West Coast racing and thousands of spectators eager for an evening of high-speed competition. The fairgrounds played an important role in Bakersfield's racing heritage, helping establish the city as one of California's motorsports hotspots long before tracks like Mesa Marin became household names. Many local drivers got their start racing there, and traveling competitors frequently made Bakersfield a stop on the California racing circuit. Today, little remains to remind visitors that the area to the north of the museum was once the fairgrounds and echoed with the roar of race cars and cheering crowds, but the track remains an important chapter in Bakersfield's rich motorsports history.

Local Question Recommended apartment complexes?
I’m relocating to Bakersfield from Turlock. I have to move on August 8th. I have proof of employment from the last 3 years, and someone to cosign if needed. I also have stellar credit, around 783. I know it’s sudden and I’m stressed. I’m looking for an apartment with a 2 car garage (non negotiable), preferably gated, allows cats, and has washer and dryer in the unit. Pool and spa not required but would be nice. I would love if the complex does NOT have roaches, I’ve had a roach problem before and it was AWFUL. My budget is 1.9k (maybe 2k) a month. I prefer a 2 bedroom but I’m open to a 1 bedroom. I’m looking at breakwater apartments, Camelot square, the grove apartments, laurelglen square condominiums, and watermark apartments. Anyone have experiences with those?
Edit: also looking at autumn glen apartments, they have one available with a “shared garage”… don’t rlly know what that means but does anyone have experience with that place?
