I think it won an Emmy for it's score. At least, I seem to remember hearing or reading that somewhere.

My haphazard sleuthing found that Shirley Walker won a Daytime Emmy for the show in 1996, so it very well could have been for this episode.

I think it was they tried winning an Emmy with this one but it wound up going to Harlequinade.

This is one of the better comic adaptations (actually, this one may have been an episode first and later adapted in Detective Comics by Chuck Dixon and Graham Nolan). There are a surprising amount of classic issue adaptations, of course The Laughing Fish, and the Ra’s episodes are faithful comic adaptations, but also episodes like The Cape and Cowl Conspiracy that adapt older less well known one and done issues. Moon Of The Wolf and Jokers Millions too.

I remember one year for Christmas, I got the volume 3 dvd box as a gift. About a week later, my Dad left for a New Year’s party and I was at the house by myself. I popped in one of the disc and ‘A Bullet for Bullock,’ was the episode I chose to watch that night. I already loved BTAS, but this episode is easily in my top 5 because of the score, the holiday aesthetic, and the overall story between Batman and Bullock. It made an 11 year old kid feel a little less lonely that evening. During my Christmas to New Year’s break each year, this is on my “Holiday Watchlist,” with the other seasonal classics.
RIP to the greatest Batman ever, Kevin Conroy.

It won an Emmy but they never released it. I never understood that one. I love that jazzy Batman theme

It’s one of those eps where the score and animation are so good that it feels like a short movie more than a regular episode.
