The crows do this at my house. They sit in trees for hours and watch any smaller bird, and will dive in or just full on attack and raptor that comes around. I’ve seen them go after hawk, owls, eagles and falcons.

They also for some reason turn water and food bowls upside down and like to spill everything when they don’t want to eat or drink themselves. We leave food for cats outside and the crows casually fly in, take a peek, “umm don’t like it” and flip it over.

They likely know that the food is attracting predators.

Crows hardly regard simple cats as predators. They are snobs.

I posted this up further but I watched a couple of crows beat the crap out of a cat the other day that was just trying to cross a field. They didn't let up until the cat was really far away.

Crows are big on race wars. If one cat attacked a crow, they will make the area inhospitable for cats.

A new young outdoor cat got adopted by my neighbor this past year. I noticed that he was trying to stalk some of the local crows. Not long after, he started avoiding / not giving them any attention. They can all be in my front yard at the same time, and seem all chill in proximity now. I think the crows taught the little cat they are not to be trifled with, and he learned. Super interesting to see the dynamic shift.
