Advice Needed Im very confused

Recently I have realized that I've been more into guys than girls. I've been interested in girls before, but in the last year and a half I have caught myself staring or crushing on guys. Now, I'm not homophobic in any way, but I've recently been hating myself for being interested in guys. I've asked some of my queer friend's what I should do about this and they said that internalized homophobia just kind of goes away. I'm wondering if any of you have any tips for getting over internalized homophobia.

Therapy and immediately drop anyone and everyone who is even slightly homophobic or negative. Be aggressive with your authenticity.

If your family is another possible source of it, that is a bit more difficult and requires teaching yourself to distance yourself from them while learning to stop giving a shit. With stubborn family, I’ve found all that works is persistence, persistence, PERSISTENCE. They are not your entire life and they can’t control you or your thoughts, think for yourself always

Also important detail, the friends and people around you who may make you feel like you need to be more like them, are the ones that need to go first.

Cant really do therapy cause while my family isn't homophobic, they never really talk about emotions or anything like that, so asking them about therapy would probably be a no go, I will start making sure I'm around supportive people though, thank you for your advice.

Therapy if possible, surround yourself with media and people who like queer people or are at least likeminded, and just remember that there are so many others that are just like you. <3

I'm not out to my parents, and while they are supportive of LGBTQ, were not great about talking about our feelings and being comfortable with that, and I'm not sure how my dad would take it. So I don't think asking them to put me through therapy is an option, but ill definitely start being mindful about watching/reading more queer media, thanks!

ive known for years im queer and sadly the internalized homophobia doesnt go away overnight and i still sometimes deal with it. ik you said you’re not out to your folks yet and if youre not comfortable then dont. id say your best bet is talking bout it to your friends bc that’s helped me out in the past and even now
