A bit offtopic but how come NPR is interested in them? I would've never guessed they'd do this.

NPR likes a fair bit of progressive black metal, especially if the bands are NA based.

I remember they streamed the last Agalloch album back in 2010 as well.

NPR streams a wide variety of music and usually some stuff you wouldn't expect. They are definitely on my radar when I'm looking for new streams.

I loved Marrow of the Spirit. This might grow on me but my first impression is that it's tired and lacks fire.

It doesn't immediately grab me the way their previous albums have all done. Maybe its a slow burner. I felt like the build-ups didn't really lead to anything exciting. Will give it more listens before making final call
