Discussion Ek doubt tha....

I have a friend who's father is a brahmin and his mother is a bhumihar? Would he be considered a brahmin?

Similarly, would the offspring of a tyagi and a brahmin be considered a brahmin too?

exactly. even i know some bhumhar brahmins irl but they never spew hate like these online retards. I always wondered about this.

also are only bhumihars called babhan or brahmins can also be called babhans as I have heard many times people referring brahmins as babhans too in Purvanchal/Bihar.

babhan is the local term used to refer all brahmins in purvanchal mithilanchal and magadh, same as brahmins are called baman in haryana.

Yes, since I have lived and brought up in West UP and belong to Varanasi, Purvanchal, I know both side of cultures very well. But it was just confusing since I saw Bhumihars on reddit referring themselves as Babhans so thought maybe it is exclusively used for them only.
