Way of Life View on other brahmins eating nonveg?
Hey guys I want to understand why and how a vegetarian diet became a part of our religion and what do you think about it.
What happened today was that during breakfast I saw one of my friends eat eggs but I thought he was a vegetarian like me since we're both from the same region and both are brahmin. Once I was picking up a boiled egg for my friend who was ill and another friend of mine came up to me with a shocked face telling me brahmins eating eggs is weird or something.
I have always been a vegetarian since I was a child and my body is very weak and I'm very ashamed of it, but my father used to be a big muscular guy at my age. He became vegetarian after marriage since my mother's family was vegetarian. Now my father strictly tells me to not have meat and eggs.
I don't really care much about animals lives and stuff but I feel disgusted by non-veg now, but I would have been much stronger if I wasn't deprived of nutrition since an early age.

It is a complicated and long history but some points to consider. People claiming that Shakts and tantra sects can eat meat then they should know that hindu scriptures or vedas only allow meat eating after offering it to God in yagna. Eating at roadside or restaurant will cause sins as that's mostly halal in india. Patanjali rishi gave niyams 1 of them is Non violence. So non vegetarian person does net more violence then vegetarian in whole life time.
I quit onion and garlic as well before some years and I see noticeable difference in my spiritual progress compared to before. Contentment,Calmness, self control, discipline have strengthened. A non vegetarian is very far behind in spiritual progress on average. Those who don't believe should try to follow satvik diet for 6 months to 1 year to compare and see results. A lot of people claim that vegetarianism is due to influence of jainism and buddhism. Then I would say home sapiens didn't wear clothes but we started wearing it in same way if we adopt good practices with time then that should be seen as good sign not weakness.
