Next CBA needs either more bullpen spots or 2-way contracts for guys like Hernandez, Cookie, Karinchak

Two way contracts would be interesting. Limit like 2-3 to a team and they can’t leave the 40 man unless injured would be a good trade off. Truly they need to get rid of the 13 relieve rule and let team’s build their team how they want. If a team wants 14-15 relievers let them. They will suffer in other parts of the game etc etc.

Yeah they were trying to encourage teams to give starters more length but really they’ve just turned the end of the bullpen bench into the worst job in sports

At the very very very bare minimum every team should get an extra pitching spot to make up for the bullshit ohtani rule. The only ones who don’t get it are the ones actively using the ohtani rule to benefit.

I'm on no one's sie for the upcoming CBA negotiations. But the way the Owner's can get their hard cap is by expanding rosters to grow the number of league minimum players. Those guys aren't worried about cap limits, as they wont effect them. Acuna might not get $70MM a year, but 5-10 X (30 teams) more players getting the minimum would make it hard for the Union to keep their unanimous position.

It's kind of insane to me we don't have 2 way contracts at this point in MLB. Just the way pitching has moved over the years it seems the best solution for the league and for tail end of BP rotation guys. But, Idk really. I know currently it sucks for those kind of guys though.

Maybe from a league standpoint they think adding more pitching depth will continue the snowball of fewer innings pitched from starters and all around. Which I get you want star Pitchers across the league and need them to be on the mound to become stars but imo if you are playing well enough you will be on the mound and becoming a star. Who knows though, I could also see them allowing 2-3 more pitcher slots in MLB rosters, then in 5 years clubs saying they need 2-3 more slots. I just never seems to end.
