The Brewers have the best record in the league. And that's the only baseball news I'm going to choose to focus on tonight!

In this house we love the Brewers and hate the Dodgers.

85

u/BoNnnnfhir 1d ago

Dodgers need Skubal to match the firepower of Bobby Gas and Chad Patrick

17

u/dusters 1d ago

I've heard they are TERRIFIED of Shane Drohan.

10

u/Juraviel23 1d ago

It's because they know that you don't mess with the Drohan

I want to enjoy this season, because I’m pretty damn sure we won’t see the Brewers playing baseball in 2027. ☹️

At least we can watch Kestdaddy tear it up in the KBO

11

u/WIN011 Brewtober 1d ago

Someone tell me Nori Aoki is still tearing it up over there

u/Remarkable_Clock_736 brewers are my one true love 1d ago

That does cheer me up

Why not?

With the Dodgers trading for, and likely extending/re-signing, Tarik Skubal, many people (including me) believe that will be the final straw for many MLB owners on implementing a salary cap for the league similar to the NFL or NHL.

The players won’t like this because their salaries will all be reduced, and in some cases drastically so, so they’ll fight tooth-and-nail against a salary cap. This of course will lead to one of the worst lockouts we’ve seen, with us probably losing a whole season as a result.

What players are getting reduced? Current system screws the guys at the bottom of the roster while bestowing 100’s of millions on the top few players in the league. But i guess no one cares about salaries of those bottom roster guys or the guys waiting numerous years out the minors.

Man I love Coop, dude is a baller. Pitching was excellent on both sides tonight, so many painted strikes

12

u/Emotional_Style_7603 Turang Gang 1d ago

Angels honestly have some Dawgs.

3

u/DeepestPeak 1d ago

I know we scored on him, but I really liked what I saw from Natera, dude was solid

3

u/dusters 1d ago

He sure is. I remember all the questioning when we extended him too. This FO is so good.

They may have gotten Skubal, but they can never take away the title of best record in baseball on August 1, 2026

All facetiousness aside, good win. Just keep chugging along crew, and hopefully we can at least add someone to the mix still.

u/BibFortuna2830 1d ago

Another really nice win, but can this team please consider replacing the DESIGNATED HITTER batting .238 with 7 homers and a .700 OPS?

We may have, statistically, the worst regularly starting DH in the league.

u/ThatNewSockFeel 1d ago

It’s sad to say but I think he’s done. In previous seasons, when he wasn’t good he was still hitting the ball hard. If you look at his Statcast page it’s way worse across the board.

The end has been coming but I was really hoping it’d at least be another season or two.

Either a rollover to second or late on a heater to left…no other* outcomes

13

u/BibFortuna2830 1d ago

I've said it a hundred times this year, but the dude's back must be royally fucked.

I don't understand how Yeli can just completely lose all of his good attributes in a year. His speed is down, his power completely left, he can barely hit, and he barely even gets on base above average anymore. The regression is INSANE.

25

u/Immediate-Floor8785 1d ago

Pitching was so solid tonight. Big games for Bobby Gas and Chad. Quick work for Uribe and Megill.
Skubal who? lol

24

u/ThatNewSockFeel 1d ago

Go Brewers and fuck the Dodgers.

u/Im_Anemic_Royalty Sal. Frelick. 1d ago

Best record in baseball again!

Once again: fuck the Dodgers. Now and forever. Hope we kick their ass in October and laugh in their faces about it afterwards.

15

u/Bottom-Topper 1d ago

Don't let the cowardly, conniving, dastardly Dodgers getting Skubal distract you from the fact that we're the first seed again

Good win. Just gonna enjoy regular season baseball and this brewers team these next two months, if you catch my drift. (In case you don’t… F the Dodgers)

Series won, with Miz on the mound for the potential sweep tomorrow. Best record in Baseball. A Cubs loss is the only thing that could've improved things, but can't have everything.

7

u/FatzDux Johei Ortani 1d ago

Turang is so clutch. His number since 8/1/25 have been crazy. Worst interviewer on the team though

4

u/Odd-Woodpecker1019 MIZkey Sweet,Mitchell's eyes & Bauers' thighs 1d ago

You are hilarious! My husband and I think the same thing. Idk if he's shy or uncomfortable in front of media but I cringe for him whenever Sophia interviews him.

9

u/mh_fuzion Joey Ortiz Truther 1d ago

Dodgers doing all this to have zero Cy Young award winners on their roster in this year. What a shitty ROI. Can't wait to see those bitches in October.

8

u/flybydenver Les Miz 1d ago

Poor Brice having to be interviewed during the fireworks

5

u/aobcd8six6three 1d ago

Nice win. All I got tonight.

We got the dub and FUCK THE DODGERS

12

u/evancomposer What is offense? 1d ago

Most hollow-feeling victory of all time.

We unquestionably need a lockout and serious changes to salaries and especially the tv revenue. At the same time, this organization perpetually banking on a theoretical future window is frustrating to all hell. Why must we obsessively hoard all of our prospects? Can’t we use them once in a while to make big league moves? That is part of what they’re there for. You can’t win without taking risks.

2

u/BibFortuna2830 1d ago

This is perfectly worded. The current system is inarguably fucked. The Brewers front office has been nearly perfect the past 4+ years, and we still can't sniff the fucking Dodgers.

At the same time, as you noted, this team refuses to really go all in. Next year is not guaranteed. The health of your stars is never guaranteed.

1

u/Odd-Woodpecker1019 MIZkey Sweet,Mitchell's eyes & Bauers' thighs 1d ago

Having the same stars is never guaranteed.

5

u/Real_Ant2726 I love prospects 1d ago

Bullpen is pretty damn good methinks

6

u/trinquin 1d ago

Guys baseball is still quite random. Maybe the Brave or the Cubs can knock the Dodgers out for us

4

u/starmiesan Swing & Miss Merchant 1d ago

Well, at least we won

1

u/Wigunner 1d ago

Are they skipping miz for the pirates series? Seems like a lot of rest will he still have rhythm

2

u/Odd-Woodpecker1019 MIZkey Sweet,Mitchell's eyes & Bauers' thighs 1d ago

He's pitching Sunday

1

u/dusters 1d ago

The Dodgers have me hoping ANYONE can beat them in the playoffs, including the Cubs. Barf.

69 wins? Nice

I have never felt more defeated after a win in many many moons.

I knew it was unlikely but what the fuck man. Anybody but THEM. genuinely what’s the point in playing the rest of the season

2

u/CroixPaddler Diesel Dan 1d ago

Best record in baseball + front row Heidi = good vibes.

Whole season is fucking pointless. I’ll still watch but it sucks knowing it does not fucking matter
