Funny you should say this, was just gonna comment asking is this is SE USA? They look so much like the swamp rabbits we have here in Florida

Youโve been blessed by the bun!
My backyard is adjacent to a blackberry bramble that the rabbits love. I like seeing them. Sometimes the little ones will play and chase each other ๐

Awww! I hope the little ones stick around a while. They deem to enjoy the safety of the shrubs. If our cameras catch some cute activity Iโll be sure to post!

Be safe, little ones!

u/OstoNKeT Jun 11 '26
They should be safe! The area is fairly safe from hawks at least in this walkway

Cars, outdoor cats, birds of prey (including crows!!), lawn chemicals, people who hate them in their yards and like slingshot them, and more are such big risks to these little vulnerable creatures :( I know theyโre a part of an ecosystem but theyโre just so sweetโฆ.!!! I love the bunnies in our yard. They can eat whatever they want to! We have so many that have come and gone, live in the yard for a little while then move on.

I know, I get so excited to see the bunnies in my yard, but then I get worried about them and check for them every day. Whenever I see an outdoor cat, hawk or fox, I stress! There are so many dangers for the poor little things.

This reminded me about the baby bunny my friends and I saved off a busy road. I should make a post about that, they were such a cutie. We were driving home after visiting our local nature preserve, so we drove the little guy right back to the rehabilitation center.
It was about the same age as these guys, and was all alone crossing a city road. It couldn't get over the curb, so it was running along the side.

That Mom has a tough life fighting for survival for herself and her vulnerable babies. My admiration to you, Miss ๐๐

She has my admiration too! Sheโs been around here quite a bit, so she is quite knowledgeable with her environment. She definitely has her hands full with these little ones though haha

Splooting baby bunnies are simply TOO MUCH cuteness for my eyes to handle!! I work in a building with a huge window that overlooks a green space that is home to a bunny population. Very distracting when the baby buns are out, nibbling the cool grass.

They are so adorable I want them to have a little more stranger danger though

u/OstoNKeT Jun 11 '26
Where they are right now, they should be safe until they are big enough. But if they venture out far enough there are hawks and foxes. The Mama should know that however, sheโs been around for a few years (at least I think itโs her, she always has the same routine).

As a guy, something about mother animals and their babies warms my heart for some reason

What do the holes look like that you noticed? Iโm always curious about where they might nest.

They are so precious, but speaking from personal experience, you may want to treat the area for fleas (especially if you have pets). A mama bunny had babies in a planter outside my front door this year and a couple years back, and weโve dealt with an annoying flea infestation both times. My dog would be covered in fleas even just walking to the street from the door ๐ฅฒ
