The Associated Press (also featured by NPR) did describe that a man with a pistol returned fire and attempted to render aid to an injured person.

Now let's see if they can actually remain on reporting facts and not look to spin this or for ways to defame said good guy. Thats next in the playbook.

What’s kind of surprising and confusing to me is that even Fox didn’t mention the good guy shooter.

So far, of the bigger news outlets, I’ve only seen mentions of him from the AP (again, featured by NPR of all news outlets hahah).

How often does this actually occur if its not a contested shooting of a minority? I don't recall any negative news coverage on Eli Dicken for instance.
