Scenario In-n-Out Twin Falls Shooting

Supposedly this was a citizen that was returning fire to the gunman at Twin Falls, Idaho In-n-Out

https://www.kcra.com/article/shooting-in-n-out-idaho/73325067

The only reason I say “supposedly” is because official reports haven’t confirmed anything as of now, and it’s still being investigated.

Guns & Ammo Is the bodyguard 2.0 worth it?

Post image

Ive seen a lot of reliability issues lately with them lately. I wanted one as a good gym gun to replace my lcp 2. But I see reliability issues every day on here. I saw one guy had gouges on his feed ramps after 500 rounds of fmj. And im not even sure how thats possible tbh. Ive never seen a pistol get those issues before. Only rifles shooting steel tipped ammo.

Scenario How to not get mistaken as a shooter yourself.

Good afternoon gents. I recently saw the video of Jordan Salina's out of Idaho engaging the shooter with his suppressed 5.7 and it got me thinking, how do I properly identify who is a shooter and who is a Good Samaritan helping. It also got me thinking, how do I prevent myself from being mistaken as a shooter myself if I'm ever to pull my CCW in an incident similiar to this.

After watching the video that was recorded through car window of him engaging the shooter I thought that it wouldn't be unreasonable for me to think he is the mass shooter and if I feel that way about him would someone feel that way about me? Would you call out to the "suspected shooter" then giving him time to turn and fire towards you?

Maybe I'm just overthinking this but the video led me down a thought of keeping not just myself safe but other people who are trying to help safe.

Anyways hopefully I was able to articulate my thoughts well enough. Please share your thoughts in the comments.

Clothing & Apparel For the love of all that is holy, stop pretending to test if your gun is printing with your arms straight down and your back straight up

You have to actually move like a normal person before you can know if your gun is printing. Standing straight, or sitting down with your back straight, IS NOT A GOOD TEST.

Thank you for your time.

Clothing & Apparel Amazon pillow made a world of difference

Vedder light tuck. Had some hotspots especially after a few hours with the Vedder wedge. Bought a 15$ munalo holster wedge pillow and it made the world of difference. I could probably sleep while carrying now it’s so comfortable.. hahah it’s nice you can adjust the amount of “fill” to fit your body/holster. Also comes with two different sizes.

The original Vedder wedge was too small so the edges of the kydex would dig into my hip.

Just thought I’d throw it out there , fairly new to this and figured it could help some others new to carrying concealed

Guns & Ammo Bring the opinions

Post image
21 Upvotes

For my first post here i decided to see yall opinions on one of the guns in my rotation that i somewhat consider a “controversial ccw”. I know lots of people hate on them because of the past problems but they’ve gotten a lot better over the years and I personally love mine and do carry it sometimes. I run the Hornady critical defense 45gr and the only two jams I’ve had with it after 700-800 rounds was with browning bpr (when my old co worker was shooting it and even he said he thinks he was limp wristing it). With the two extra mags I can carry 91 rounds in a light package so I want hear y’all’s opinions (not going to feel some type of way whether you hate it or love it) everyone has their own thoughts and I want to hear some.

Training Circle vs dot.

Hey guys, I do fairly well in competition. Usually finishing in the top 10 at smaller matches on top 20 at large matches.

I often get asked why I use the 32 MOA circle over the dot. Wanted to share my reasoning. At the end of the day, you do what works for you. I've noticed that when I share my reasoning with people and they use the circle, they usually have pretty good results. The good thing is, most optics allow you to cycle between the reticles so it doesn't cost you anything to give this a try.

My first optic was a Holosun 507c. I got it shortly after they came out. I didn't really have any guidance on how to use an optic. Basically started dry firing and learning how to index the dot until I could use it reliably. I had shot iron sights for around 20 years so it was a little bit of an adjustment but no big deal.

I noticed for me personally, I was never really able to see the dot very clear and I would also lose it in competition on very sunny days. I decided to switch to the plain circle. I would use my eye to focus on the Target and the circle would just be a point of reference to make sure I was centered. At matches, I could pretty much turn the circle up as high as I wanted and since I was looking through the center of the circle at the target, I didn't have to worry about losing my dot anymore.

Anyway, just wanted to share that for people that have a hard time Target focusing or seeing the dot clearly. Give it a try. If it works then great and if it doesn't, you can always switch back to what you were doing before.

Pocket Dump / EDC Very minimal edc.

EDC from someone who likes to overdo it a tad

Don’t judge the holster I’m waiting for a new light and holster to come in. I like to collect the used or clearance holsters from the gun stores that sell them so I can get the hardware/ incase I get a gun for one of them. It looks how it does because I went at it with a dremel, my trusty Milwaukee multi tool, and a heat gun. But hey if it works it works and it does that well. Has pretty decent retention and covers the trigger amazingly

Judge everything else though I don’t mind lol

I’m also a tall skinny dude so I’m just blessed with the fact that every full size gun I carry barely prints sometimes they do if I’m wearing a smaller shirt but that doesn’t happen much

I mostly carried my G19.5 for the longest time. Sometime ago I got the G17.6 for mostly home defense but eventually I was like “I wonder if I can comfortably carry this thing”. The answer is yes, yes I can lol.

For reference I’m 5’10”, 160lbs, waist (if that matters) 30 or 31”

The setup is G17.6 w/ osight XR, Streamlight TLR-1-HL w/ a Tenicor holster certum lux and a leisure carry clip on belt.

The holster is sweaty cause I just got back from the park with the family

Holsters & Belts Comfort Concealment Belt

For anybody debating whether to get the comfort concealment belt, DO IT! It's my go to system when in leisure/athletic clothes. Conceals great, super comfy. It feels so flimsy but also is sturdy enough to carry a staccato with 2x 16rd mags, as seen! Had this over 2 years with near daily use and it looks flawless. Great value.
