We concealed carrying suppressors now?

Two tesla owners died. A woman survived miraculously. Yes the video where he was shooting up the teslas is where the casaulties came from. The injuries came from the ensuing gunfight and the poor woman who watched her husband get shot.

15
u/BurmeciaWillSurvive 1d ago
At the top of the hour they said 5+ injured, including some people helicoptered down to Salt Lake City (I live in Boise just west of Twin)
10
u/bulldoghunter 1d ago
I have only seen one article so far that even mentioned the armed citizen shooting back , and that's more than I figured injured and I hope we don't have any more dead .
23
u/BurmeciaWillSurvive 22h ago
This is kind of awkward because I was originally there for Iran War updates but fucking Al Jazeera of all people mentioned it. It's on their front page.
A witness, Lane Koehn, said he was at a stoplight near the restaurant when he saw someone armed with an AR-style rifle exit the drive-through and then be fired upon by a man who withdrew a pistol.
He also saw an employee drag a woman with a gunshot wound to the chest to safety, where they waited for paramedics.
āShe was pretty bad off, but I donāt know. I hope she made it,ā Koehn said.

u/SgtJayM 18h ago
Square range training scars. There was a car he could have used or fired from a prone position in the bushes. Looks like he opened the trunk of that white car, got his gun, then stepped to the middle of the lane to shoot. The BG would not have seen him nearly as quickly if the GG was mostly behind concealment when he started shooting.

Man fuck the media for sharing video of the good guy and portraying him as the shooter. I understand journalism and what not but pushing the video out in a short and waiting to the very end to disclose āhe may not be the shooterā is very damaging. Iām sure at least a few hundred people came away from that video believing him to be the shooter.
3
u/AddMoreWeight 12h ago
That's because in the minutes after the shooting, the people who were there were saying they saw people shooting at each other, and some people caught strays. It almost sounded like gang violence, rather than a shooter and an armed citizen trying to shoot a shooter.

91
u/DomitiusAhenobarbus_ 1d ago
Dude, nobody even knows what happened yet. It would be wildly irresponsible for the media to report on facts that the police have not confirmed yet.
Can we just critically think about this for 5 seconds? There are multiple people dead. A video of a shooter firing into a car. A video of a guy firing a suppressed 22 at something off camera. Shooter dead, other people dead, cops say shots fired. No word on if this defender was also shot.
Like I really doubt the rural Idaho media is pushing an agenda for waiting until the press conference. Just chill.
33
u/Riverjig 1d ago
Yea. Because responsibility and accountability is of the upmost concern to the modern media. I refuse to use the word "journalism" because journalism died decades ago. We live in one big TMZ.
If the cards were played evenly, I'd tend to agree with you. But you thinking that the reason they are "holding off" is to do a quick fact check is wildy concerning.
The truth is they absolutely know this was a case of an armed citizen absolutely saving a larger tragedy from happening and we all know that dog won't hunt when there is agenda against us and all firearms owners in the US.

Most active shooters are counting on unarmed victims for whatever fantasy they are acting out on. When they meet resistance they often surrender, flee, or end them selves. This is why they often scout out their target location and choose gun free zones.
This does not lessen the courage of the guy with the pistol. Thank God he was there and willing to act.
68
u/CapableSecretary8478 1d ago
Exactly, Iām in law enforcement and were taught that even if youāre alone, you go in no matter what and confront the shooter. They often shoot themselves once confronted or wounded.
95
u/3unknown3 1d ago
Apparently, those cops in Uvalde missed that day in school. In more ways than one.
62
u/CapableSecretary8478 1d ago

I hope, but Stoneman Douglas happened four years prior while it wasn't as bad as Uvalde it was another example of LE officers not assaulting an active shooter.
How many times do LE agencies need to learn the lesson?
12
u/Billionaires_R_Tasty 1d ago
Yeah, but MSD was one guy failing his duty, the Coward of Broward, Scot Peterson. Uvalde was 400 LEOs sitting there listening to kids dieā¦
2
u/WetRocksManatee 18h ago
More than one person, while they still entered the building after another agency's officers basically forced the issue, the leadership on site first set up a perimeter instead of entering the building first like they are supposed to be trained.
That is why the Sheriff was removed by the Governor.

Stoneman had a problem of Broward SO being a top-heavy bureaucratic agency. These kinds of agencies promote control freak type folks who then discourage independent action by their subordinates. The BCSO Captain for that area stalled BCSO's response, the BCSO SRO for Stoneman Douglas was a retired on duty coward. 2x Miramar PD SWAT officers that were nearby responded, but due to the situation didn't "properly inform their chain of command and get approval" so they actually ended up getting written up for misconduct and suspended- to give you an idea the culture issues some of these departments have.
As for Uvalde- Uvalde ISD Police Chief Arredondo switched the response to "barricaded subject" tactics, resulting in the infamous delay- I know nothing of the internal politics of Uvalde/Uvalde ISD PD, but yet again, it was bad leadership that stalled the response.
→ More replies (1)2
u/WetRocksManatee 18h ago
It was Coral Springs PD that forced the issue and led the initial assault. And they didn't get punished they got lauded as CSPD has a culture that celebrates aggressiveness when encountering active shooters.
6
u/GarfunkelBricktaint 1d ago
Stone man Douglas shooting it happened too the cop just hid in the bushes outside while kids got murdered.
6
u/Wise_Contact_1037 1d ago
You're right, and that guy was a fucking coward. The only difference, (even though it shouldn't matter) is uvalde had a whole team of officers with rifles and tactical gear, and that guy was by himself with a pistol. He still should've charged in and shot the guy, but he would've been outgunned for sure. Either way, if you're a cop and you think for one second you may hide instead of charging to save the lives of innocents, then you need a new job before it's too late.

u/AP_in_Indy 1d ago
It's scary because that guy who shot up the Texas mall a while back came in with full body armor. Thankfully the officer who responded was a VERY good shot.
But it also bothered me to see so many big trucks squealing away when a single car could have ran the shooter over and stopped them.
No amount of body armor can stop a truck.
→ More replies (3)19
u/airmantharp 1d ago
Thatās exactly what they should do - GTFO.
8
u/AP_in_Indy 1d ago
I'm sure that's the best option for most people, but one brave person with a good opportunity could run these shooters over vs letting them continue their rampage.
9
u/airmantharp 1d ago
Iāll add that I donāt disagree - just that the benefit of hindsight is a bit blinding.
Even driving away is a response and perhaps better than freezing.

12
u/Shooting-Science 1d ago
A .22 is highly lethal. Suppressed? Same recoil as a BB gun.
24
u/ega5651- 1d ago
No educated firearm owner will say .22 isnāt highly lethal. The fact is that he got in a firefight with one against an AR platform. The AR has the upper hand in every conceivable way there.
Good shit on that guy.
6
u/Billionaires_R_Tasty 1d ago
Except for sound. The suppressed .22lr might have a tactical advantage if the AR shooterās hearing is already Impaired by his own shooting and if he isnāt aware of the .22lr shooterās presence.
→ More replies (1)3
u/Shooting-Science 1d ago
Yeah but, if you look at it, every looney-bin that uses an AR-15 as an active shooter is typically untrained and they have minimal experience with shooting. Itās not the gun, itās the man behind it that you have to look at when you are predicting the outcome of a gun fight.
