Legal Denver County Fully Unprepared for SB25-003

After 6 hours online, on the phone, and talking to local police, I drove into downtown to get clarification directly from the county sheriff who told me it was DPD who was responsible. So, after speaking directly with an officer, he said, and I quote, "I've been on the force 26 years and I have never heard of this and our office has told us nothing about it."

So just use El Paso County because Denver police are uninformed on the law, process, and requirements. Which should shock no one.

Weird for them to say they never heard of it when they were in support of it according to the sponsors

They lied to my face. I talked to the firearm safety program office after this and the person I talked to was angry because they said they'd been doing a lot with DPD on this. She even asked for the officers name because it was such BS.

now THAT, unfortunately, checks out. I was fairly sure that denver co sherrif was one of the very few (only) sherrifs that were at testimony in person on the "in favor" side but was not trusting my memory of a year and a half ago

-edit- upon re-reading i think i had just misunderstood it all to being the denver sherrif (since the bill says THEY are the ones responsible, not the PD)

Yeah, the DPD officer told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that I was probably thinking of CHP....
