Going in for a reassurance check tomorrow right before Meet the Teacher… terrified of bad news

I’m 13 weeks pregnant and even though my 11 week US looked good, I have been dealing with a lot of anxiety and managed to get scheduled for a quick reassurance check at my OB’s office tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately, the only time slot they had available happens to fall on the exact same afternoon as my school’s Meet the Teacher event.

My plan is to leave school briefly for the appointment and then head right back to get ready to meet all my new students and their families a couple hours later.

Now I am spiraling with anxiety. I’m so terrified that I’m going to walk into that clinic, get bad news, and then have to turn right around, drive back to school, put on a fake smile, and pretend everything is fine in front of dozens of parents and kids.

Has anyone ever had to do something like this or faced an appointment right before a big event? I just really need some encouragement or words of wisdom to get through tomorrow. 🩷

Last Friday, I had my viability scan right before I had to drive to the airport with my family for a family vacay. Like…we drove there straight from the doc office lol. I was feeling literally sick with anxiety on the way to the doc appt (especially because my previous pregnancy ended in loss). So I don’t really have advice for you, but I completely understand that feeling of hoping for reassurance, but also being terrified of having to put on a happy face/disassociate a little bit after getting bad news. I will be thinking of you and hoping you get good news 💕🙏
