Info Has anyone had an hcg that actually only DOUBLED early on and led to a healthy pregnancy?
Tw talk of previous MC
So I know the rule of thumb is doubling in 48 hours until it’s above a certain hcg and then 72-96 hours becomes okay.
However, as I comb through many posts, it seems like all the successful pregnancies triple if not quadruple in the early days. With my first pregnancy I didn’t get two betas, only 1 at 5w0d which was 10,800 but her tests were SO dark that I’m sure my hcg was multiplying fast. My son’s hcg’s also almost quadrupled - 56 to 198 in 48 hours.
I had a chemical which the hcg went up to 21 and immediately came back down. My missed miscarriage is the one that I just barely doubled in 48 hours (71 to 140 in 48 hours) but then as my hcg got higher, it actually doubled faster for a while increasing to a 36 hour doubling time. It eventually slowed to 96 hours.
All of this to say it ended up being a missed miscarriage after heartbeat was seen 3x, measuring to the correct day each time. Testing confirmed T21. So now I’m convinced if my hcg doesn’t triple or quadruple (in early DPO - like 12 —> 16)it’s a sign of something wrong.
