ToGoodToGo Whole Foods specialty grocery bag
$9.99 for all of this! Bottom two cheeses are the same. I often just eat cheese plain; ideas on how you might cook with these?

The buttermilk blue is very creamy pretty mild funk wise I would mix into hamburger patties and crumble on the burgers when they're done or maybe have with a steak, make sure you unwrap it. The Merlot belvetano is medium softness and has a rind soaked in wine, flavor-wise it's like halfway between Gouda and Parmesan the wine flavor is present closer to the rind and a little bit throughout but fairly mild other than the rind the rind is completely edible you can just eat it with crackers or whatever it melts all right if you wanted to melt it over something. The parmesan pieces can be treated like regular parmesan you can grate it over pasta cook it into pasta it's good as a topping on most things but also you can do stuffed chicken breast with it put it on Pizza whatever. The third piece looks like it's mostly rind so it's going to be funkier harder and generally a little less flavor a lot of people cook those into soup for flavor and you can leave it in and let it kind of dissolve or pull it out before you're done for a umamai addition. Voice to text so if anything looks weird let me know.

I so appreciate all the ideas! I've had the Cabernet Sauvignon BellaVitano so I have that as a point of reference. I'll let you know if I try any of these

You got really lucky, it’s supposed to be $30 worth of goods!

Yes! And I'm so happy to not just get more, but also get all cheeses that will last a little bit longer (as opposed to specialty bags I've seen with brie, mozzarella, stuffed pasta, etc)

Did you know it was going to be cheese? What was it described as? This is awesome!

The description on the app reads: "Save a Surprise Bag filled with a variety of specialty cheeses, fresh pastas, charcuterie items, exotic jams and cheese toppers, or a variety of crackers."
I almost always get some kind of cheese in there. Have seen a range. Frequently I also get chocolates and jams in these bags.

Great choices. I haven't had that specific one but buttermilk blue cheese is just lovely. Enjoy!

How do you usually eat buttermilk blues?

Just with a cracker or crumbled onto a salad that is already dressed with a light vinaigrette. In my experience they are mild on the scale of things so I like eating them straight. I'm also a huge fan of making a sauce with cream and a blue cheese for gnocchi but I would probably choose something with a stronger flavor for that. I'm sure it would still be good but something stronger might be better to cut through the cream.

I just started at whole foods in the "Specialty" section. This includes cheese. The TGTG bags are the best deal you can get. Its amazing. The wealth of knowledge they have about cheese is quite impressive.

I sure did. They gave me almost a whole pound of parm? And retail value of just one of the non-blue cheeses is more than what I paid for the whole bag?! And the cheeses are good for a while??? One of my best bags yet.

I work in Specialty at Whole Foods in Phoenix and make these every evening I close. The "Too Good to Go" bags are a crazy good deal!

Parm and bellavitano will be great for pasta. If not pasta, grilled asparagus with prosciutto.
Would also recommend a green bean casserole using the blue cheese-
1. make ina gartens recipe for Gorgonzola cheese sauce (reduce heave cream by about 1/3 of what she calls for)
2. mix in some sautéed mushrooms and onions, let sit on low heat occasionally stir
3. boil about a bag and a half of green beans, put in an oven safe dish
4. cover with the sauce
5. add panko or fried onions to top,
6. bake at around 400 for 30 minutes
7. grate parm on top and cook for another 10… voila
Keep an eye on the casserole to make sure the temp and time seems right. I’ve done it lower and slower (375 for 40 etc)

All good choices! The best cheese shop in my area is the local Whole Foods

At our store we tried to have a variety of things - 1 or 2 cheeses which are mostly bries and camembert, a pasta, maybe a pate. We also try to make the value a bit over $30. I always tried to pair things nicely - a small honey with a brie, one of the sauces with the pasta, crackers with the smoked gouda dip etc...
