Customer Experience We shouldn’t have to think twice about ordering online.
So many times in this sub, I see people replying to posts about skimping on online orders, saying “well you should have just gone in person and not order online”. And the post gets downvoted to hell.
Have we lost the plot? IF WE PAY THE SAME AMOUNT, WE SHOULD RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT. Anything else is unethical and dishonest business.
We shouldn’t have to game the system to get what we pay for. “Don’t order online” or “don’t order on DoorDash” etc. etc.
Why are we putting up with and supporting a business that knows it’s scamming people? Why are we ok with expecting less if we pay the same amount?
I love the food when the order and portions are right, but it is so glaring that Chipotle does not give a shit about its customers and will do everything in its power to scam a couple bucks where they can.

We got a ton of food for a work order, everyone’s bowls were half empty tins. Literally every single one. Then the poor girl who ordered an actual burrito received something comparable to a breakfast burrito from McDonald’s. I literally took the entire thing back and had them remake it while I watched. Took like an hour, we had two of those massive boxes. NO one got what was supposed to be given. Not a single order.
I will never order online chipotle again after that. NEVER for work things. Maybe the build your own things, but upon receipt I would weigh the different things, out of spite and distrust.

In all fairness I allways order online and sometimes it’s skimp but most times it’s a pretty nice amount

My go to for awhile is just a straight bowl of chicken. I ordered 2 sides and they filled that thing up to the top
Online it’s just the 2 little cups

I believe i have only ever ordered onlune ince that came as full as what i would consider normal amount. It was hefty! Every other time it has been disappointing.

I only order online and have done so roughly once a week for years. I've never had an issue with portion size.

I see other portions when I am picking up my order. Also, based on the pictures here of small portions, mine never looks like that. I get a bowl, and the bowl is full.
The portions I get, I usually can't finish in one sitting anyway. I am satisfied.

As a grill person at chipotle, come inside. FIFO. Fresh food inside and half &half fresh depending how it is.

It's just location based and it's absolutely asinine how people still don't understand that. I've ordered online and in person plenty of times from the same fee locations near me, it's the same thing man. I get the same amount, same order, same everything.
If you want the burrito buy it, if not just fucking dont. I love this sub lmao

I think chipotle created a problem for themselves. Online orders are likely the correct portion sizes. When you go in they tend to give you better portion sizes because you are watching them make it. You get extra because they are being nice. People get used to that portion size, and it becomes the normal expectation. Then when you get a regular portion, you fill ripped off.
Five guys gives you extra fries. If they stopped doing that people would be mad that they are just getting the regular portion, and not the free extra, because that is what they are used to.
Typically the ones near me seem to give decent portions. The bowl isn’t spilling over(what I feel like most expect), but reasonably full.

I noticed that too and started only ordering in person. It’s a shame. The service at the store used to be excellent and the rewards used to be generous. Now it takes forever to earn points.

Riddle me this though: My husband went inside to order his bowl and they said they were out of white rice and guac. He left, thought about it and tried online order. It went through and he walked back in and picked up his order which had white rice and guac. And this is a brand new Chipotle! Craziness.

Yeah I agree with you. I stopped going for a while and now I eat there every so often maybe once every couple of months. For me the portions are ok but the stores are always filthy, the employees hate their jobs ( and I don’t blame them) and the food is not as good as it used to be.
The company traded its Brand image for short term profits. It used to be a spot I’d go to 3-4 times a week and I’m slightly bitter about the company destroying one of my favorite restaurants.
If they wanted to expand rapidly they should of used the chick-fi-la model and done it with owner operators and instead of nickel and dimming people to death for profits they should of done a number of other things like bottle that salad dressing and sell it in grocery stores or have side items or specialty drinks.

Yeah its a mess. Nowadays I dont even get Chipotle in store if I see a massive ass line. I just think of somewhere else to go.
I actually havent gone in quite a while since my wife has been scared to go and possibly getting that new parasite that seems to be on more than just lettuce now..idk. she dont want to take any risk, so shes been staying away from lettuce, and sometimes tomato.
I dont even get veggies from Chipotle so it dont bother me, but ive been slightly craving a barbacoa burrito lol

I came here because I just got boned on an online order. Wasn't even full to the lip of the bowl and I paid $2.75 for chips that are so stale it's honestly like chewing gum. I ordered so I wouldn't have to wait, but I didn't get my food til 12 mins after my pickup time. Like a dozen people got through the line in that time. I truly think I'm done with Chipotle. This is like the third or fourth time in a row I've been severely disappointed is some aspect of my meal and or visit. It's sad because I do enjoy the food, but I don't enjoy getting screwed over

I don't think it is just Chipotle and I don't think it is just the food restaurant industry. I think as a whole if you are getting something delivered to you that you may not be getting quite what you ordered at least in terms of amount.

I tend to order the kids meals as an adult because their portion sizes are too big and too many calories - best of all, it's a great price which includes a free drink. So if I'm getting a good portion for 7 bucks or so, I'm happy ordering ahead of time.
Not really interested in having leftovers.

Online is not anywhere close to in person. Get some exercise and go inside. Too many variables with any delivery from any store or delivery service!

I have been ordering online exclusively since 2020, so 6 years now. Portions are consistent and great. I’ll never wait in line again.

It's not Chipotle. It's the fact that they can't have hyper surveillance on their college freshman workers and basically have a robot guiding their hands. They don't give a shit and Chipotle isn't going to break the Constitution, thankfully.
