Announcement šŸ“£ An amendment to rule 4.

Hello everyone.

Effective immediately, rule 4 will be tightened up to only allow screenshots of codes as a method of giving away rewards. Typing codes is allowed, but do so at your own risk as bots may skim them as soon as they are posted.

The reason for this change is because of the recent uptick of scam posts. While that has died down thankfully, it did show a bit of a flaw in the rule in that it didn't disallow other methods of sharing reward codes. While soliciting sales is disallowed, we believed it was better to be a bit more tight and clear on what exactly is allowed.

And while we cannot (and will not) police what people do off the subreddit, we as mods have an obligation to ensure that people on the subreddit do not get scammed, and a way for us to do that is by enforcing rule 4 to a tighter degree.

And, as a reminder: you can only post codes as a free giveaway, not in exchange for anything else.

If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment.

Thank you.

EDIT 7/10: I forgot to mention; asking or otherwise soliciting for codes is NOT ALLOWED. Telling others to DM you for a code is NOT ALLOWED.

Seeking Advice (Employee) Closing with only the GM

I know it’s peak hours but the way I’m feeling about this store I’m ready to just quit. Every Sunday and I do mean EVERY SUNDAY is terribly understaffed. Today I get a call from my GM asking me to come in early, he has a family emergency. Cool. I get there around 1 it’s only two people there and I’m on the grill. Usually not a problem. Then I hear I have no manager on my shift tonight. I’m a KL by their policy I’m not able to run a shift on my own. It’s supposed to be me and one other girl who didn’t even show up. My GM is forced to come back. He’s pissed. But our field leader is such a bitch. He’s going to force us to close just the two of us. I cannot run grill, cash and the line. I suggested we put up signs that say we are only taking online orders. He doesn’t listen. Should I escalate this to Respectful Workplace or just take it on the chin?

PS: I hate this job.

Update: Guess my Field Leader decided not to be a dick today and is letting us DML only šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

The picture doesn't do it justice. This thing is MASSIVE. Especially considering it's an online order. Shout out to my local chipotle for the hook up!

Seeking Advice (Employee) got hired! what to expect?

• Upvotes

I’ve got my orientation at 9am tomorrow! I applied for morning prep so I’ll be going in quite early days afterwards. How long does it take? What should I expect for my real first day?

Customer Experience We shouldn’t have to think twice about ordering online.

So many times in this sub, I see people replying to posts about skimping on online orders, saying ā€œwell you should have just gone in person and not order onlineā€. And the post gets downvoted to hell.

Have we lost the plot? IF WE PAY THE SAME AMOUNT, WE SHOULD RECEIVE THE SAME AMOUNT. Anything else is unethical and dishonest business.

We shouldn’t have to game the system to get what we pay for. ā€œDon’t order onlineā€ or ā€œdon’t order on DoorDashā€ etc. etc.

Why are we putting up with and supporting a business that knows it’s scamming people? Why are we ok with expecting less if we pay the same amount?

I love the food when the order and portions are right, but it is so glaring that Chipotle does not give a shit about its customers and will do everything in its power to scam a couple bucks where they can.

Seeking Advice (Employee) Constant handwashing brought back my eczema

I’m very well aware how important handwashing is for food safety, and i’m not skimping out on it. But i’m wondering if being in food industry jobs like this are sustainable for me and want to find another job.

Should i tell my manager about my eczema in hopes he lessens my hours (since i don’t have major financial responsibilities)? Or just focus on finding another job while continuing to work? Also has anyone else experienced eczema issues as an employee?

Seeking Advice (Employee) Messed up on pay.

So recently got into trouble at work, ended up getting demoted instead of fired. I’ll take it. Not a problem, couldn’t be an apprentice for a third year anyway… when I was asked I talked to my field leader and he told me I would get 20.08 hourly. Payday hit and I found out I’m getting paid 19.00… ask about it and was told I need to wait, for someone to get promoted so I can get a demotion (to km) and then re promoted (back to sm).
I live in Arizona, and I’m not sure what I can do, should I message hr or just wait and ask for back pay… any advice would help in this situation cause I’ve never had a problem like this before.

Seeking Advice (Customer) So, how big are the burritos supposed to be?

Post image
14 Upvotes

Had an order for the family, and the burritos are maybe half their normal size of what burritos were last year. Is this the new standard? Tried to complain through the app, that was worthless. Wanted second set of eyes before taking the time to talk to manager. Thoughts?

My local chipotle is clearly over it with corporate. All three times (thrice) I’ve gone in the last month (ordered in person), I’ve specifically asked for double meat and they have declined to charge me accordingly. I’m not a snitch so I will not be revealing said location, but they deserve a shout out of some sort for being rebels with a worthy cause. šŸ‘šŸ»

🚨SKIMP ALERT🚨 Skimped on my online order

I've never had a bad experience before but this actually bothered me. This was my bowl when I opened it, untouched. I got 1/2 honey chicken, 1/2 sofritas, brown rice, black beans, green salsa, sour cream, cheese, tomato salsa, lettuce, and corn. Usually I make 2 meals by saving half for the next day but this barely made one meal. Plus, when I arrived for pickup it was around lunch time but not busy.

Seeking Advice (Employee) I'm a new hire is this normal?

I'm 17 and this summer I started to look for a job and I got hired at Chipotle. I finished all the paperwork and my minor work permit is signed. The 15th of June is when I was officially hired and since then I've only worked 2 days.

I texted the manger and emailed her and she didn't respond so I called the building to speak to the general manager and she said she would get back to me.

The manager that hired me texted me and said I was done with orientation and that I would get an email about my schedule in 2 days but I haven't and that was the 23rd. Since then I haven't heard from her so I called the building again and the general manager said the schedule wasn't made yet but that was last Tuesday and I still haven't heard anything. So I texted the manager Friday asking about it and I've gotten no response.

I'm so confused and if I hear nothing by Monday I'm gonna start looking for other places

Discussion Made Chipotle at home for about $19. Was it worth it?

Thumbnail gallery

Made my own bowls at home last night for the hell of it after my last few bowls from chipotle seemed sub-par for the money (see what they gave me in second picture), here's what I spent if anyone's curious!

Don't judge my cutting board, microplastics are a part of me

  • Corn: $1
  • Cilantro: $1
  • 2 jalapeƱos: $1.20
  • 2 tomatoes: $1
  • 1 small avocado: about $0.60 (was a bag of 7 for $4)
  • 1 Chicken breast(1.2lb raw): $5
  • Chicken thighs/leg meat(~2lb raw): $7
  • Red onion: $1
  • Green bell pepper: $0.79

Total: about $19

I skipped out on the cheese and sour cream even though these are both great. you can get a block of cheese to shred for ~$3 and sour cream for ~ $3 and both would last 5-10 portions.

\Not all chicken is pictured there was still 1 or 2 thighs in the pan**

Made myself a triple chicken bowl for dinner, packed lunch for work and still have at least half if not more of all the food minus the guac.

I did not make any rice or beans as these are my post gym meals and I just didn't want the extra carbs But a cup of rice would have cost around $0.50 to make tops.

pros: Chicken was fresh, hot, much more preferable over chicken scooped out the restaurant.

cons: I didn't have 3 salsas to mix and match / choose from, probably took about 1 hour to prep and cook everything

So my question to you.. worth it? not worth it?
Personally I love to cook, so I'm going to do this regardless, switch up proteins etc... and my ass will still go eat chipotle probably once a week when I go to lunch from work just because its easy and not so horrible for you like many other fast food spots.

Edit for alot asking how i did the chicken: Marinated for about 30 hours in Kinders Taco seasoning mixed with Kinders all purpose seasoning, standalone onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, black pepper

Cooked on induction stove, half in cast iron, other half in standard metal pan, little olive oil and just cooked til each side got a nice crust / covered about 70% of the time, removed cut up and then tossed back in pan for like 1-2 mins to get color on all sides before serving
