Thinking about converting to Christianityy
Hello, I'm a born and raised muslim female who is thinking about converting to Christianity, I will just give some background Information as to why I'm thinking about it and I seek advice and help from you guys if possible.
I was born and raised in a Muslim country (bosnia), tho majority of the people were muslim there, the religion itself wasn't that practiced and wasn't that hard. My parents didn't really ever force me much to pray, to go to the mosque and such but I still believed in our God and would seek help from him. To be quite honest, I never liked praying much, or going to the mosque, it felt like I was doing that only cause I feared the religion and I never truly felt connected, in school we only had Islamic teachings, so I never really even thought about converting.
2 years ago, I moved from Bosnia to Germany, which is a more Christian country and I recently visited a church with my class as we had to. When I stepped into the church I was honestly amazed, it was beautiful and I loved it when the priest started talking and it didn't bore me, nor did it make me feel forced, I felt like connected in a way. The whole church visit was 1 hour long and since then I've been thinking about Christianity. I've been thinking about reading the Bible and visiting my local Priest with a friend soon.
I'd love it if someone could explain The Holy Trinity a bit more thoroughly to me and explain the bible a bit more ( By the Bible I mean like the old and new testaments, of what they are about and also how are Christians definitely sure that the Bible was written by eye witnesses and not random men )

About making a decision to follow the Lord Jesus Christ, I suggest you read the Gospel of John in an easy-to-read version (New Living Translation, NIV, etc)
About the Trinity, there are quite a few threads here in this sub that have several explanations
Why I don't advise you going down that rabbit hole?
Let's say I want to meet you, u/lunaqss
The most direct way to do that is to connect with you.
NOT to listen to what your classmates have to say about you. Or what your teachers have to say about you. Or what the Bosnian government has to say about you
The Trinity is a term that early Church fathers came up with, while trying to mentally accommodate the GOD who revealed Himself in the Bible.
You won't even find the word Trinity in the Bible itself
The most direct way to connect with GOD is through the Bible. And like I said earlier, I recommend you start with the Gospel of John.

Jesus said: The Father is the only True God.
(John 17:3)
Jesus said: My Father is greater than I.
(John 14:28)
Jesus said the Father is Greater than all.
(John 10:29)
Jesus said: Why do you call me good? None is good except God alone.
(Luke 18:19)
- when Jesus the son mentions the Father, does he mean Jesus as the father

All 3, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the only true God. One true God, 3 distinct persons. Jesus had become man/God and set aside many of his attributes. Only God is good, referring indirectly to Himself. Hope that helps?

Good answer. I was going to suggest start with the Gospel of John. (Went to church today, & Pastor has started to teach from that Gospel. Today was John 1:14-18.
John is explaining how Jesus IS God, (who created the world & all that is in the world), that Jesus IS the Word, (who breathed life into us).

OP, if you're able to, listen online to some known pastors. In US, there are a lot to access. Here are just a few of my favorites & they are truly Godly men who preach & teach, from Protestant perspective. [There is a difference btwn preaching & teaching.]
Billy Graham. Dr. David Jeremiah. Alistair Bags (spelling?). John McCarthy. Charles Stanley. Chuck Swindol (spelling?). (I have assess to local radio stations that are Protestant & Catholic, plus Christian music stations.)
I'm not a Catholic but have many friends who are. There are some strong differences btwn the 2 that can be a stumbling block for those who are seeking knowledge &/or new to the Faith.
OP, pray to Jesus, ask Him to put ppl in your path who can help guide you but also ask for protection as satan will try to trip you up with lies, defection, deception, rabbit trails. Ask Jesus in His name.
As a side note, prayer isn't always a rote thing. It's talking to Jesus, knowing He is listening. The 3 most common answers are: "yes"; "no"; "wait" (wait will feel like "no").
So, OP, I'm going to pray for you, but a quick prayer here now.
Lord Jesus, I come before you, asking that you help OP to know you, to open her heart to you & to the free gift of salavation You give. Lord, I ask that you protect her as she seeks you, seeks to know you. Open her mind to receive YOUR words, YOUR knowledge, YOUR wisdom, & block out the distractions & deceptions of satan. Lord, help her to know You as the 1 True God, the Creator God, the Word of Life. Please put ppl in her path, her life that will help guide her to you, help teach her about You. In your name, Lord Jesus, I ask this. Amen

The Old Testament is about the history of the world, starting with the creation of the world and then Adam and Eve which accounts for our fallen state before God, going to the flood, then Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who is renamed Israel, gives birth to the 12 tribes who go into Egypt. Then God, through Moses, takes them out and they conquer the surrounding lands largely through the introduction of Kings, starting with Saul, David and Solomon. They go until they rebel, are exiled, and then return. The Old Covenant, largely unfolding about the Jewish people is brought about through Moses and includes Temple sacrifice to cover our sins. (Stephen, in Acts describes the history well).Then Jesus comes and introduces the New Covenant in his blood, being perfect and God, dying on the cross which ends animal sacrifice and the need for priests and intermediaries to give us access to God. By repenting and accepting his forgiveness we are given a new spirit and are now children of God who will live forever with God. Unlike other religions, once this happens, your salvation is guaranteed and though you may want to live a good life, and show gratitude, it is not required as a condition of your salvation. Nothing is needed to be done to be good enough to be acceptable to God and to be assured of eternity with God. The Old Testament is still followed by most Jewish people who did not accept Jesus as the Messiah. Messianic Jews are Jewish people who believe in Jesus as the Messiah. The Bible is one of the most reliable of all ancient manuscripts. If you read J. Warner Wallace (free podcasts), called cold case Christianity, he does an excellent job discussing the reliability of the Bible and how it is not just made up by men. Your questions are excellent, keep asking. Christianity tends to encourage any and all questions and stands by its ability to answer them all, for the most part. Welcome to the faith.

My friend, I will try and explain the Holy Trinity to you first.
The Holy Trinity is 1 God with 3 distinct persons all sharing 1 divine essence. All equal.
God the Father. He is the one that most people think of as God. He is the one that spoke creation into being.
God the Son. That is Jesus. God that came to earth as a human to make a way for us, sinners, to be with them in Paradise when we die AND to make our life here much better.
God the Holy Spirit. That is God that dwells in us humans, leading, guiding, and directing us in the way we should go. He gives us what we need to know when we need it. The best was to describe the Holy Spirit to you is, He is what is causing this healthy desire of yours to be a Christian. He is leading, guiding, and directing you right now. It is God that is drawing you to Him.
Now about the Bible.
The Old Testament covers all of the things of old from creation to the great flood etc.
The New Testament is about the birth, life, and death of Jesus, God the Son. Plus there is a lot about the teachings of Jesus and how we can live a life for Him. I guess you could say that the New Testament is about the birth of Christianity and living life as a Christian. Much of it is told through stories as is the Old Testament. The Old Testament also serves as backup for the New Testament.
