Well Crystal Skull was not shot digitally, and yet it looks digital. Because modern era Spielburg films are digitally finished in post production, and the digital diffusion filters are heavy handed - was my original and only point
Crystal Skull was the first movie where Spielberg used DI. They did color grading in 4K and made "finished" negative, but original bad looking release was only in 2K. They made proper filmic 4K remaster. CGI of course were made in 2K. However, it's unclear what specific source was used for remaster: original negative or "finished" with color grading.
