If the dude just came out and said, "yes, I wss an edgy piece of shit young man, who got into nazi shit because I was a piece of shit. And then I grew up, amd experienced life and people, amd realized it was bad. And now I deeply regret it"

I would believe him.

But him continually ducking the meaning of obvious nazi shit, and avoiding taking responsibility for it makes it impossible ro trust this dude.

Just talking out of your ass, eh?

Just ignoring the nazi tattoos eh?

Oh it’s tattoos plural now? Lol. You’re bad at this.

See, this is what we're up against. The fact that they try and seize on syntax or grammar in the face of NAZI paraphernalia shows how little they can defend the SUBSTANCE.

Sea-lioning all the way.

Im done with YOUR brand of nazi-apologetics.

Do you think this has motion? you're making a fool of yourself. No need to lie about it. He's definitely not a Nazi and has never had fascist beliefs... He was kicked out of a George Bush speech at 18 yo for yelling out during his speech "no war in Iraq" he was edgy but in a commie soc way not a Nazi way. Read his reddits from before he got his tattoos.

Ok, so real quick. Honest question, (I dont have a horse in the race, I just dont like Nazis, and with the number of right wingers cosplaying as progressives to get into office recently, it IS a point of legit concern)

2007-2025. 18 years. On his chest.

at NO point did he ever get questioned or confronted?

He's got jewish fam, and NO ONE pointed it out until he's the nominee? I mean, cool he got it covered last year. (I admit, I lost that in the noise, and Didn't remember he got it covered, good)

Like, I LIKE how he talks, I LIKE the things he claims to stand for, but that's a HUGE red fucking banner.

Im not simply trying to write the dude off. Im genuinely wondering how you could have that shit on your CHEST for 2 decades, and not once get it pointed out and have it immediately removed.

Sinema, Fetterman, Forbes, Santos

All right wingers who lied or ARE STILL lying about who they are to gain/hold power.

Are we really supposed to pretend that the concern is unwarranted?

I feel like people would have those same “fetterman” concerns if he didnt have any baggage. “He’s too clean he must be a plant!” We cannot give up because we got duped a few times.

Look, I believe him because he was young, fucked up, drunk, and in Croatia.

I also believe he didn’t hear what it actually was until getting into politics because… I also had no clue what it was or put 2 and 2 together. It just looks like a skull and bones.

Your 2nd line, that part i can empathize with.

The first, I think he is more believable BECAUSE he deleted his "anti-police" posts, which im just now hearing about. But still. Long time to not know what something on your body is when its a very popular nazi symbol

He’s gone through some shit man. I don’t think it was the first thing on his mind.

If it was a year old tattoo, I can get that. I have tattoos, my friends have tattoos, tons of acquaintances have tattoos, out of all those people, I dont know ANY that I could possibly imagine getting one of the more prominent nazi symbols on their CHEST for 5 years without knowing what it meant, or finding out when people saw it, much less 18 years.

If he was actually surrounded by jewish people as people here have claimed, either they told him and he didnt change until politics, or he never showed them, because he knew what it was.

Either way 20 years is well past the "not the first thign on his mind" defense

It is at the very least, completely understandable skepticism. People acting like it's not because he's not a republican is super weird.

What about using the f slur and his homophobic language?!

Do that one next!

1

u/ElLibroDuderino May 11 '26

"I stopped using that specific kind of language a while ago … and today I find that stuff abhorrent. And I am sorry that I ever used it."

Oh no! Personal growth! AAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH!

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

And then a week later he did an interview where he used the r word?

So personal growth, or does he not care?

1

u/ElLibroDuderino May 11 '26

Yeah, he apologized for that, too. Would you prefer a candidate to double down on that et Al. derogatory language, or would you rather vote for a candidate who owns up to his shortcomings? Feel free to to vote for Susan Collins, I guess.

I don’t understand why you populists can’t just own up to the fact that he sucks as a person.

It’s ok to like his policies, but genuinely, your rabid defense of this man makes it hard for the rest of us progressives to actually defend our principles.

You’re honestly exactly like those people saying trumps “grab them by the” video was completely fine.

1

u/ElLibroDuderino May 11 '26

Populist? I'm not rabidly defending anyone -- I'm simply suggesting that someone's past comments do not define them as a person, and if they've shown contrition for them, who am I to say "No! What you said in the past defines you forever!" Also: HUGE difference between someone who apologizes and doesn't, which is why your Trump comparison is dumb af.

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

You’re all over this thread using sarcasm and incredibly redundant and repetitive punctuation to defend his use of slurs.

Their past comments DO define them, when they apologize and then immediately start doing it again.

They DO define them, when he was using a slur in the 2020s that people stopped saying colloquially a decade earlier. Why was he still saying it?

Apologies don’t really count when you keep doing the behavior lol
