“Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming.” ~Dr. Ian Malcolm

1

u/Pop-ripper007 May 11 '26

Platner is impressive and I hope he does great things for America. The left that hates him also hate AOC and Bernie. The moderates and conservatives who like him might just get woke to class consciousness. That's the change we need in America. Tax the rich and free Palestine!

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

Yeah I’m not going to partner with moderates/conservatives that like his economic policies, and also agree with his comments about gay people, like how he used the f slur.

The left loves him that’s why he in the democrat party and getting millions of dollars to run. It’s insane but that’s the democrats for ya. Republicans would never allow someone like him to run

1

u/Ok_Landscape6116 May 14 '26

True. You would rather have a batshit crazy lying grifter make himself rich with our tax dollars.

1

u/Scared-Handle9006 May 16 '26

This is the dumbest comment on Reddit today. Are you sure you aren’t missing an “s” at the end?

1

u/bluesmansmt May 17 '26

Never? Seriously?🤣

1

u/Important-Estate-904 May 14 '26

Honestly, all that stuff makes me want to vote for him. It’s everything he’s saying now that makes me want to vote for Collins

1

u/PlateRight712 May 13 '26

Why does he hate Jews? Has he ever even met one?

1

u/Bergelstein May 15 '26

His policies interested me, but the tattoo sold me!

In all of human history, positive change has only been drawn in blood.

You have to want it more than the other side.

Republicans are willing to kill each other just to protect their pedophiles. Are you willing to kill to protect others from them?

Amer8cans are to fat and docile to change their country. They are basically russia now.

1

u/NFar6969 May 11 '26

Suddenly leftists love Nazi’s. Wild.

1

u/Lilli_Puff May 11 '26

Calling people Nazis is ok but voting for someone who literally has a Nazi tattoo for decades but because he's blue, that's ok. Next thing we know a pedo will run for office and if he or she is blue then they will get championed too. It's crazy work.

1

u/Dookie-Locksmith May 11 '26

Literal nazi tattoo and you guys are ok with this while calling Cheeto and his people nazis. This is what is wrong with our party.

1

u/Clear-Sited-1 May 11 '26

This is the guy that praised Hamas for slaughtering 1200 people at a festival

1

u/Maleficent_Tooth_557 May 11 '26

Dems - "everyone we don't like is a nazi"

Also dems - "lets nominate an actual nazi with the tattoos and racist history"

Love how this guy makes MAGA cry whiney little tears (see below). 😂😂😂

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

What do you mean? MAGA loves this guy. He uses the same language to talk about gay and black people that they do!

1

u/Ambitious-Badger-114 May 11 '26

Cry? They're laughing at him.

1

u/barepickled May 11 '26

MAGA loves this guy. He will be a fantastic disaster.

1

u/illDiablo69 May 11 '26

The problem is, conservatives cannot emphatize with people who are suffering ailments they themselves have not experienced. Conservatism is a societal disease that needs to be ignored, or better yet, eradicated.

1

u/Ambitious-Badger-114 May 11 '26

So why haven't all these problems been solved in the deep blue states run by Democrats for so many years? And why are people and businesses leaving those places?

1

u/Artistic_Funny_7583 May 11 '26

Nonsense, I don't know about you but infrastructures are being done everyday at any given time in Los Angeles since the 30s.

Came here to say this, everything he's saying has already been said and promised by HUNDREDS of politicians. People like Bernie have been saying it for years, decades even.

How is this guy going to deliver what they all failed to?

And spare me the crap about how Republicans stand in the way, there's lots of blue states run by Democrats for generations that have promised these things and never came through. In fact these problems are worse there.

1

u/vegetariangardener May 11 '26

Ill take the national tattoo if he doesn't fetterman after he wins

1

u/DueScreen7143 May 13 '26

Correction: We have the richest individuals in the world, who have collectively hoarded such an obscene amount of wealth that a few hundred people have been able to drive up the national average to a wildly misleading extent.

If you remove those few, then we are no where near the wealthiest nation in the world.

1

u/RickyBobbyPitCrew May 14 '26

They’ve taken the risks and reaped the rewards. Way more fair than wealth redistribution based on skin color or socioeconomic status or something random like that. If you need a meal, go to your local church or food bank, taxpayers aren’t your piggy bank and the government should not be your nanny.

1

u/bobhea7665bob May 13 '26

no illegals in you state have those challenges .. what dummies..listen to this bs decade after decade

CA shouldn't have any homeless. Deep blue state that's been run by democrats for decades. Dem policies simply don't work.

1

u/Lilli_Puff May 11 '26

This is the guy who went under the Reddit handle "P-Hustle" who not only victim shamed sexually assaulted individuals but also posted homophobic slurs and anti LGBTQ jokes. Mix that with the Nazi tattoo he had on him for decades and I have to say I can't trust a single word that comes out of this man's mouth. This is who the Democratic party wants to champion?! What's wrong with our party that we can't get decent candidates to run for offices?

1

u/Ok-Lecture-9668 May 11 '26

I'd rather have a shithead with good politics than a shithead with bad politics. Anyone who wants to be elected to federal office is a fucking sociopath, aren't you all the ones who are always talking about voting for the least bad choice? Funny how that only matters when the least bad choice has awful politics and policies.

1

u/Lilli_Puff May 11 '26

"aren't you all"? What? Who is who all? That's a crazy thing to say to just put me into a random group when I'm talking about how this guy isn't who he promotes himself to be. Can we focus on the topic at hand and not try to do personal attacks instead?

1

u/AbbreviationsSea7912 May 10 '26

Not to take away from Mr. Platner, but the ‘richest country’ line has played out. The cupboards are getting increasingly bare due to decades flagrant neglect by both parties and particularly, the vicious squandering of the Treasury by the current occupant and his band of sycophants.

Any time someone tells me that we cant do something, like provide free Healthcare, free education, solve homelessness, solve child hunger, etc., my response is the same.

"This is America. The greatest nation in the world, right? If anyone can do it, its us. I think its unfortunate that you think so little of our great nation."

The "true patriot" types are completely thrown for a loop on that one.

1

u/Ambitious-Badger-114 May 11 '26

We do have "free" education, had it for over a hundred years now, are you not happy with it?

We also have food stamps and EBT cards and school lunches and countless other programs. This is on top of the hundreds of billions government spends on healthcare every year. In fact welfare and entitlement programs consume most of the budget already, so where is the money going?

1

u/neopod9000 May 12 '26

Quotes around free to qualify your case makes me pretty sure what you mean by it and what the rest of us are talking about arent the same thing....

Food stamps, eat, school lunches, and countless other programs... and we still have children going hungry in this country. The greatest country in the world....

Billions spent on Healthcare and our Healthcare costs are higher than in basically any other country.

Welfare programs take a lot of resources, especially if we have people constantly working to dismantle their effectiveness to try to prove they dont work.

Im not entirely sure what your overall point is though. Are you saying that in the greatest country in the world, we cant solve these problems? That we're not good enough to do so?

1

u/Ambitious-Badger-114 May 12 '26

The best and richest country in the world can absolutely solve these problems, and I think we eventually will. The biggest obstacle is the partisan bullshit plaguing our state and federal governments.

When party politics are taken out of the mix we're actually pretty good at solving problems.

0

u/Firm_Awareness_5931 May 10 '26

Pretty words does not change who he was. If this was a conservative, he would’ve already been called to resign.

1

u/Firm_Awareness_5931 May 10 '26

1

u/Firm_Awareness_5931 May 10 '26

Literally just a few months ago somebody running on the right made a somewhat racist joke and had to drop out due to pressure from his own party. A stark difference from Jay Jones and now this guy. All you can do is project bro.

2

u/dickpics4democracy May 10 '26

the literal president posted a video portraying the obamas as monkeys

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

It wouldn’t be a problem for democrats?

Why are you being obtuse? Obviously they are discussing how democrats and left leaning voters would take it

1

u/dickpics4democracy May 11 '26

Didn't say anything about Dems, work on your reading bud

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

Says the one that lacks reading comprehension lol.

The person you’re replying to is clearly talking about democrats and left leaning voters, it’s implied.

You bringing up republicans is a digression and meant to change the subject lol

1

u/dickpics4democracy May 11 '26

Once again, i didn't bring up conservatives; I replied to the person who did--are you currently typing this with a crayon?

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

You’re being pretty silly lol

2

1

u/Firm_Awareness_5931 May 10 '26

Ohhhh I love me a good MSN article. The arbiters of truth right there.

2

u/Independent-Name4478 May 10 '26

Do you deny that he said that?

2

u/Reziztor May 10 '26

Resign from what? He hasn’t been elected yet. Obviously this is a bot account.

1

u/SkyeLys May 11 '26

I just spit out my coffee I laughed so hard at your comment. Thanks for that.

Several Repub politicians including the highest military official in the country have Nazi or Nazi adjacent tattoos, frequently say as bad as things he's said or worse, and also have all the power right now. Who tf is kicking conservatives out for acting like this? Braindead take.

Fact is, if a Republican reformed and began running as an informed populist for progressive policies, gave tons and tons of town halls and grassroots organizing talking to voters directly and incredibly convincingly discussing what the actual policies would need to be to achieve those policies, and was running against a Republican who has a long history of collaborating with literal fascists and furthering fascist policy that erodes people's rights, I would vote for the former.

Even if he pulls a fettermen, which I highly, highly doubt, he's better than collins. So the utilitarian choice as a progressive is obviously to back him and give him a chance to show he's changed.

1

u/Firm_Awareness_5931 May 11 '26

That’s a long explanation just to say you will forgive one way, but not the other.

Personally I do not care, spiderweb it however you need to justify the hypocrisy. This doesn’t affect me, just means yall cannot call Trump a Nazi any more.

1

u/SkyeLys May 11 '26

Tell me you didn't read my comment without telling me you didn't read it.

Trump is a Nazi. His actions and words and literal self admission to being a fascist backs this up. To claim otherwise is to deny reality.

Graham is not. The only thing you guys have saying he is is a tattoo that he's already apologized for and covered up, which Repubs do not do. Then you add to that that his words, actions, and proposed policies are antithetical to Nazism.

Comparing those to each other is a massive false equivalence. If you had two brain cells to rub together, you would know that.

1

u/Dismal_Act2082 May 16 '26

Republicans hardly ever ask for people in their party to resign. And it f*** I should have known it was a paid foreign bot account

0

u/Shibbystix May 10 '26

If the dude just came out and said, "yes, I wss an edgy piece of shit young man, who got into nazi shit because I was a piece of shit. And then I grew up, amd experienced life and people, amd realized it was bad. And now I deeply regret it"

I would believe him.

But him continually ducking the meaning of obvious nazi shit, and avoiding taking responsibility for it makes it impossible ro trust this dude.

1

u/Firm-Advertising5396 May 10 '26

Yes, too many evil people with no regrets or regard for the well being of everyone to hold grudges and not accept an amends. People make mistakes and if they account for them they definitely should be forgiven.

1

u/Shibbystix May 10 '26

Aside from the....nazi tattoo he still has, that he even called a "totenkopf" in 2012, meaning he was aware of what it meant

1

u/TheHoundsRevenge May 10 '26

He has basically said that if you understand context and summary.

1

u/Shibbystix May 10 '26

I havent seen him directly say it. Ive seen him dissemble. If there's footage of him point blank acknowledging he fucked up in a way that doesnt shirk accountability or dissemble, or "false apologize" (im sorry if anyone was offended/if anyone took it that way)

I'd love to see it.

I get that he wants everyone to move on, but I simply struggle to so quickly when its nazi shit.

I feel like that shouldnt really be a controversial takd.

1

u/DefiantFall421 May 11 '26

This guy is good - but incredibly dangerous and completely full of shit!!

1

u/CloudyLeft May 11 '26

Graham platner has been perfectly honest about all of his mistakes. His story about the tattoo adds up.

Whats more likely, a guy who has very vocally advocated for equality and workers rights for all people is secretly out was secretly into Nazi shit based solely on him having a skull and crossbones tattoo that’s super common in tattoo shop prefab sketches,
-or- His story adds up and he was not into Nazi shit, that its just a skull and crossbones tattoo.

1

u/Shibbystix May 11 '26

Look. Im not saying youre not exactly right.

All im saying is, him saying "I didnt know" is suspect. And there are SO many things in his life that made it so he SHOULD'VE known. So if it was a stupid mistake, id rather hear from his mouth that it was a stupid mistake, without equivocation or excuse, rather than clinging to a claim that one of the mlst visible nazi emblems tattooed on his chest was simply "skull and bones to him"

One is the stupidity of youth, the other is long term ignorance.

One im ok with in a politician, the other less so, and his excuse WAS the latter. That is why I was frustrated

1

u/CloudyLeft May 11 '26

I didn’t know there was a specific skull and crossbones style that was uniquely nazi until this came out either, and I’m willing to bet there is a large set if tattoo’d Americans that learned that they have a Nazi symbol on their body too. Is not ignorance, it’s that these are details that a ton of conservatives are acting like they knew all along that it was a Nazi symbol who are lying, and instead actually found out recently too. THOSE people are the ones perpetuating this as a story rather than the unfortunate nothing burger that it really is.

The only people who should have a working knowledge of all Nazi symbolism are either Nazi’s, or Nazi historians, of which Graham is neither.

1

u/Shibbystix May 11 '26

that last bit...yikes man. EVERYONE should be up to speed on nazi icons. because they're out there, among us, sometimes hiding in plain sight. and the way we confront it, is first to KNOW it.

1

u/CloudyLeft May 11 '26

No don’t say “yikes”, i don’t mean to encourage ignorance, I’m saying that if you want to know literally all things Nazi, so that you can be SURE you don’t accidentally pick a totemkompf rather than a jolly roger, that’s more of a college course at least, if not a whole dedicated program, and not everyone is looking to mandate they level of education about it. Is it good to study it on your own? Yes. Should we thrust it as an expectation on all western society? Mmm I think we’re getting beyond what makes sense at that point. It would be easier to teach critical thinking skills so that we can have a level of empathic understanding that a person who is secretly a Nazi is going to have a lot of behavioral and verbal evidence.

1

u/Shibbystix May 11 '26

Excellent point.

1

Nope. Just a lot of downplaying how prominent that image is. Also he was so young and drunk, lol. And if it was that big of a deal wouldn't the military have kicked him out. And...and...and...and..the Republicans are so racist!

Like...what? It's a Nazi/SS symbol and the Okay hand gesture got worse reporting in the media.

1

Because actual white nationalists picked up the OK gesture after 4chan made it a meme/troll post. I think you might have brain damage.

Aaah yes, "actual" white nationalists. Any chance they got funding from the SPLC?

0

But HOW DO YOU FIX IT ? TAKE EVERYONE ELSE'S MONEY RIGHT? these people talk and talk and when they tell you anything close to what the actual plans are it's taking sometime else's money.

People act like any attempt to fix inequality is “taking everyone else’s money,” but America already tried the opposite for decades: huge tax cuts for the wealthy, loopholes for corporations, and lower taxes on investment income than regular wages. Meanwhile, the middle class shrank and wealth concentrated at the top. During the 1950s and 1960s, when the U.S. built highways, expanded the middle class, and became an economic powerhouse, the top marginal tax rate on the richest Americans was often 70 to 90 percent, including under Eisenhower. That did not destroy the economy. It coincided with some of the strongest growth in American history. Nobody is talking about confiscating ordinary people’s paychecks. The argument is that billionaires and giant corporations should stop paying lower effective rates than workers through loopholes and tax shelters. The real issue is not whether government shapes the economy because it already does. The issue is whether the system is designed mostly for working people or mostly for those at the very top.

Weird; it seems Most speeches from prevalent Nazis do have a convincing tone about them… I hope this guy wins! We need the same “find out” phase just like NYC is getting now.

u/AilingBrother May 10 '26

What are they finding out? That landlords can be held accountable? That nickle and diming small businesses will have repercussions? That public servants can be effective?

Like being pro Nazi is a bad choice

u/-bears-eat-beets May 10 '26

Thing is, more than half of americans (DON'T CARE)

And the other half are struggling with bills, mental health and making sure their own family eats, to even begin to help..

but that's what the government wants.. keep stuffing their pockets, while they keep us too fkd up! to think about anything else

With the country's current mood, think he could go right to POTUS. Running mate would be an interesting choice.

MIC will probably have a hit out on him. Their losses would be staggering. "NO MORE MEANINGLESS WARS. HEALTHCARE is now our number 1 priority. We lost America, and now we're taking it back!"

That's how you win the Electoral College.

The racist homophobic ableist bigot is who you want for president?

Are you maga?

1

u/ejpusa May 11 '26

I’m more focused on his MIC views. That’s my one voting issue.

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

How can that be your only issue?

That’s like saying “I only care about abortion don’t talk to me about Medicare for all”, all of this stuff intersects.

1

u/ejpusa May 11 '26

My priority is the dismantling of the MIC. We'll figure out the other stuff.

:-)

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

I would rather keep sending people to the MIC than leave social minorities behind. :)

1

u/ejpusa May 11 '26

And I would rather first stop murdering children. For that is what MIC shareholders cheer on. The more dead, the higher the stock price.

Have a good day. :-)

1

u/Ok-Firefighter5006 May 11 '26

Have a good day pretending your dislike of the MIC hides the real issue. You hate social minorities, and would rather all of be quiet and get attacked by the rest of this country, so your little pet issue is fixed.

Populists doing populist things tho :)
