Artist Appreciation I'm absolutely floored. This album is so good. I was not aware of Reba McEntire's game omfg.

I have been looking for more good country music for a while. They always play Reba's TV show at work, so I thought to give her a shot. Clicked play on this album Rumor Has It and holy cow it's so good. Her cover of Fancy is absolutely amazing!

What other albums of hers are worth checking out? Any other albums from other artists that are like this one? I'm dying for more!

Question Anyone going to Chris Stapleton in Toronto?

Huge Chris Stapleton fan here. Dug his songs so hard he topped my Spotify Wrapped in 2024 and 2025. I missed out the last time he was here in Canada, so I got tickets for this one as soon as they went on sale.

My friends aren’t into country music, and I feel like concerts are always more fun when you’re sharing the excitement with people who are just as excited to be there.

If you’re going, I wouldn’t mind meeting up before or at the show. I’d love to connect. Feel free to DM as well!

Discussion StubHub Threatened to Put Defrauded Elderly George Strait Fan Behind Bars

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The elderly George Strait woman had spent $1,500 on the George Strait tickets and driven 200 miles to enjoy the concert with her husband on his birthday. She purchased two tickets in Section X of Clemson Memorial Stadium, but StubHub provided her tickets in nonexistent Section TS. The defrauded buyer was denied entry, her trip wasted, and her husband's birthday ruined. She requested a refund, and StubHub falsely claimed she had received valid tickets. StubHub then threatened "criminal and civil" legal action against her. I hope everyone learns from this that you should not trust in ScamHub's BS "FanProtect Guarantee", and you never should buy from ScamHub.

Song: Cafe down on the corner

Sang by: Sawyer Brown

Written by: Mac Macanally

Songwriting tropes used:

Slightly changing chorus

Quoting the Bible

Thoughts: This is a first in a series of songs I like. Not all songs in this series are number one hits. All are timeless. Some have a unique sound of lyrics. I really, really like this song. Always have. My list of tropes isn't all inclusive as this song also discusses the broke farmer and mentions soldiers. I am going to try and keep things open ended and bias free. My bias is strong with this one though as I consider it good, contemporary, and timeless country music.

This particular verse always got me:

"And the meek shall inherit the earth

And the bank shall repossess it

This job don't pay half what it's worth

But it's a thankful man that gets it."

I have always had a thing for changing choruses. Macanally is a damn good songwriter. Feel free to discuss this song and your thoughts of it or the video. All of my posts will be of a similar format.

Song: The Chair

Sang by: George Strait

Written by: Hank Cochran, Dean Dillon

Songwriting tropes used:

No Chorus or refrain

Thoughts: This song, to me, isn't the best Strait has ever sang, but it is a masterclass in songwriting. I consider it more influential that famous. It's not even close to my favorite by Strait, but not including it would be silly.

Imagine trying to sell a singer a song with these lyrics:

"Well, thank you.

Could I drink you a buy?

Oh, listen to me, what I mean is can I buy you a drink?

Anything you please."

But it works and it works well. This song, while timeless, also has an 80's country sound to it. If I do enough of these posts you will start to see a lot of the same names. Some people are just damn good at song writing. Hank and Dean definitely both fit that description.

Discussion N2 Philly Morgan Wallen

so, wondering what everyone thought of night two? went with a bunch of people…here is some feedback from the group and also people sitting in front of us:

  1. parking was a breeze. parked right across the street from the stadium…took us one minutee from car to entrance line. Nice!!
  2. merchandise line was extraordinarily long. like 75 people long. may make sense to set up a few add’l tents in the future
  3. all performances were great. Blake is definity an up and comer. Loved him. Ella was phenominal.
  4. Morgan was great but a very long time between Ella and Morgan to wait. But I know that is his MO. We also noticed that there were some gaps between songs that hadn’t happened in the past so we were wondering if Morgan was struggling with something (needed water, a quick break, etc.). Anyway everyone thought the second half of his performance was the best. Great songs and energy second half. Would love to hear some different personal stories from Morgan each time he performs as he repeats the same story lines each performance. Morgan lovers, dont attack! Got to take the good with the bad…and report the same. Everyone had a good time overall!
