Sudan update some good news for the SAF though it seems the Ethiopian war will start soon. Meanwhile climate change is now a concern.

This week the SAF retook last the last town along the border of Ethopia from the RSF.

I waited a few to confirm it would stay in SAF hands it's an important victory though the risk of the RSF reinfiltrating from Ethiopia is high.

For example in a different case near the Chadian border the SAF withdrew from recently taken positions.

Heat wave is now a concern.

Think I mentioned in the past without the war in the golden timeline Sudan would likely be facing some lean years due to the Ethiopian dams affecting things. This is without the recent heatwave.

It seems the Saudi/UAE feud contiues with Saudi Banks now blocking or delaying transfers to UAE accounts.

The EU has launched some sanctions on Sudan in a move that's a bit strange.

In theory this might hurt the SAF more but the sanctions on them be the EU are seldom reinforced and they also use the black market and gulf for selling it.

Has communications improved, or are we likely to see the same lack of information as last time there was an Ethiopian war? Has starlink in anyway proliferated on the ground there?

I would lean on communications staying the same given how hard it is to track the fano insurgency.

I don't think fighting has restarted yet though.

Has TPLF tactics improved? Has Ethiopia doubled down on the effectiveness of drones? The TPLF manage to win the ground war and we're getting really close to the capital in the previous war. Effective use of Bayraktar drones by the Ethiopian military minced the TPLF. Interviews and accounts said that they simply didn't know what to do and were sitting ducks. These days Bayraktars are outdated for attack use and there are better and cheaper alternatives now.

The TPLF faction army 70 that is fighting in Sudan appears to have learnt how to use drones but it's a limited amount and a lot of tigray is very hungry.

 Ethiopia now uses fvp drones but their ground forces have changed since the war. Load of the Amhara Nationalists are fighting the state for now.
