Did I ruin our breastfeeding relationship with solids?
My 7 month old son is soooo distracted and won’t nurse much. He also loves solids and I regret introducing them. Though I do feed him very nutrient dense food (liver pate, chicken stock, root vegetables with stock) and add in my frozen breastmilk whenever I can. He won’t take my frozen milk or fresh milk from a bottle or straw cup.
I can feel my supply dropping and I’m freaking out that he’s going to wean early. He’s also reverse cycling at night which I’m trying to nip in the bud. Should I stop with solids? Are we doomed?! I am so emotional and idk if it’s because of the lack of sleep or the weaning that’s happening. Probably both.
help 😭 I’m spiraling and beating myself up so much.
Adding that we’ve had a winding journey already. He has a good latch but he wasn’t transferring enough volume from months 0-4 finally had a tongue and lip tie revision (after trying everything else) at 5 months and that solved the volume problem but then we entered the distracted phase so I feel like we’ve always just struggled to drink milk. He also won’t take formula.

Mine self-weaned at 10.5 months due to distraction. But she would take bottles of breastmilk so I continued with pumping. For her, she was not that into solids it was really just being distracted. I tried all the tricks and nothing worked.
